Hebah (quietdissident) | 675 comments Man, it's hard reviewing a fifth book in a series without major spoilers, but here goes.

OK, so this installment of Ally Carter's Gallagher girls adventures was a wee bit melodramatic what with the amnesia plot and all, but I gobbled it up all the same. Cammie's frustration with trying to remember what she uncovered during the summer she lost and the feelings stirred up by friends who are inexplicably mad at her and the worry that they moved on without her made for an anxious read (blending together all the winning elements of previous books but with a new twist), but this one was fun for its broader scope and answers finally starting to click into place. I remember several books in the series ago, worrying that the stories were becoming formulaic, but Carter has been tweaking the mold in significant ways for the last few books, and I just can't get enough. I simultaneously want to devour the final book but also hold off and savor it slowly because then it's the end.

Susie I’ve not heard of this series. It sounds like a favourite of yours. I’m off the investigate. Thanks!

They're a ton of fun! First book is I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You. A teen librarian I worked with years ago recommended these, but I only started reading them whichever month last year we had the 'espionage' tag, and I'm so glad I finally got around to them.
