the protagonist meets people in the online worlds and makes friends, and meanwhile they are hunted by an organisation in the real world for some specific reason, so they have to adventure through various online worlds - through a war video game, and an old western town, and eventually through a cave into an endless corridor to find whatever they needed to find. i read this around 2013/14 and i think it was fairly new. any help finding the title is appreciated!
