Please help me find a book!

I am having trouble finding a book and it is driving me insane! I read it in English class (sometime between 1999 and 2005) in Scotland. Here are details I remember:
- It was about a group of kids standing up to a bully despite the secrets he has on them
- One girl cheated on her math test, or tried to, by having a calculator on her leg and a slit in her skirt to use it, but got a fit of giggles due to guilt and I think didn't use it
- A wealthy boy is a talented artist but his mother does 't care for it. He stuns the other characters by making the inside of a shed - their hangout - look like the cockpit of a plane. His mother later destroys this.
-They try to break into the bullys home but the girls giggles give them away
- Bully's gran reveals he used to call Battenburg cake 'windoe cake'
- There is a carved lion (?) On a staircase that students touch on the way past and it is smooth from countless students doing it
