I'm trying to remember the name of a children's book that I read in the early 1990s about a pioneer child with several siblings, who disappears from his family (I don't remember how) and is raised by Native Americans (I sadly don't remember which tribe), and finds his family again after several years. He had forgotten how to read and write, but his brother reteaches him. His parents had died and his brother leads their family and builds a new home, but needs his brother's help doing so as he doesn't have much help. At the end, the brother who returns to his family, mentions having a guiding prayer that he couldn't place, and it's Psalm 23.

It's *NOT* "The Light in the Forest" or "The Sign of the Beaver" - I already looked at those and they aren't the book I remember.
