K. Britt-Badman | 9 comments Counsellor Francesca 'Frankie' Wilson, divorced mother of two, lands her dream job at ASF Technologies. Is she as lucky as she seems? From the very first day things start happening to her—bad things! Who is responsible and why? Could it be one of her clients?

Stephen Lime, who appears to hate women and is keeping a secret.

Isabelle Toms, a profoundly deaf tester, who feels lonely and isolated, within an organisation where no one else can use sign language.

Verity Froom, who dresses like a woman far beyond her years, suffers from ill health, but who refuses to visit a doctor.

David Shaw, who's young and handsome, but who has just lost his wife to a hit and run driver, and is devastated by grief.

Or is someone else responsible?

** I warn you that it ends on a cliffhanger. But, it's OK because I've written the sequel, In the Absence of a Body (also available on KU).**

Reviewers' comments:
'Gripping debut novel.'
'Expect the unexpected.'
'An excellent read where the characters and places came to life and the pages kept turning.'

Nancy (JaneNancy) | 161 comments I like the title. It seems like an open invitation to read the book and get in on the big secret!

K. Britt-Badman | 9 comments Thank you. I was hoping the title would encourage that type of curiosity and you've confirmed it.
I can only speak for myself, but whenever someone tells me they have a secret I naturally want to know what it is. Perhaps I'm just plain nosy.

Nancy (JaneNancy) | 161 comments Secrets intrigue me. I have learned that many people find it impossible to keep a secret. They have to tell "just one person," and of course that ruins the secret if each one tells one someone else. So often, a secret begs to be told. It builds up pressure till it finds an outlet.

So true, Nancy.
