Hi Alex, I had the same experience, and that subplot could have been ripped out, thrown into a bloody sack and dumped in a grimy, rat-infested alleyway for all I cared.

Haha, I was easily convinced I think, 😁
Anybody else get started? I cheated and started a couple of days early, but I've only made it about fifty pages or so, up to October 23. I've seen the movie, so no great surprises yet.
I did start a little early as well. I had finished something else and dived into this one. I have not seen the movie but can only imagine how disturbing the movie could be.
I have a feeling the book is going to be more disturbing in the long run. Lots of stuff you just didn't know was going on in the minds of our characters while watching it.
I just got to Ch. Wednesday, 28 in Part 2 - I'm really enjoying the book so far. There are lots of tough subjects to read such as (view spoiler) Looking forward to finding out!
The book has a feeling of dread and creepiness while reading it and I'm really enjoying that!

I hope so because I hate reading books that are Carbon Copies of Movies One of the reasons I like Stephen Kings books more than movies they are different and give you a complete different experience. I recently read Jaws that Book is totally different from the Movie Although in the case of Jaws the Movie was better than the book.

I am watching the mini-series of 11/22/63 right now and they changed a lot of the book to fit most things into one season. Ugh!
Stephen King books are almost always better then the movie or TV series!

I've heard that The Outsider is pretty good. Still need to get to that one.
11/22/63 is great. It's a bit different then his horror books but I still loved it!

I’m at the same point also, Ginger. Definitely dark and creepy! So, what do you think (view spoiler)

I’m a little less than 1/4 into the book, and so far, Carleton, the book and movies have been pretty close to the same. The difference, of course, is in learning more about the characters through the internal dialogue that you don’t get in the movie.

I'm to that point also. (view spoiler)
Halfway through. This is my second time reading this one. Doing the audio version this time. Other than a few weird pronunciations the narrator does a good job. Such and excellent book. I went and picked up the American and Swedish films off of Amazon $12 for each blu Ray. I enjoyed both of the movies as well. The American film is vastly different but still a fun horror movie. I really like Chloe Grace Moretz.
I'll tell you what, there are a few twists and turns to come that are in the book, and not represented in either of the movies.I should've re-read this with you, it would've been a blast.
Awesome! I'm a little bit short of halfway. Ginger is close to the same point also, I think. Glad you're joining.
