K.D. Carter | 17 comments Hello there. I have decided to start an author's blog, and spend some time blogging about other indie/self-published authors. My goal is to read one indie/self-pubbed book a month and write about it. I will repost a shorter blurb on Goodreads & Amazon. Please contact me if you're interested, the blog is here:

Kira Wilson | 15 comments Hi K.D.!

First off, cheers! This sounds like a very promising premise for a blog. Since you're a fantasy writer yourself, I'll see about getting you a copy of book 1 for our Twilight of the Ailendar duology, The War of Blood and Iron, if you're still taking submissions. It's about a grouchy warrior making an unlikely friend of a spiritual maiden while trying to save his true love from kidnappers, except a pesky world-threatening crisis keeps getting in his way. A fairly short read too.

Secondly, since we're already talking about OUR books, why not tell us a little bit more about YOUR books?

message 32: by K.D. (new)

K.D. Carter | 17 comments I have agreed to review several books, but I would gladly add yours to the list! It does sound like the kind of thing I'd enjoy.

As for mine, I have two books of a 4-part "Celtic Rings" series, which is kind of a historical fantasy. The premise is Irish Vikings (there was such a thing) setting up a fictionalized colony in a fictional land based on Newfoundland. Vikings did set up some kind of short-lived colony in Newfoundland. There are also Talmanuks, a fictional indigenous people based on the Inuit. These books follow the "epic quest/battle" kind of fantasy, very LoTR oriented.

The other book is called "The Death Doll," which I label as historical fiction. It takes place in Durham, New Hampshire in 1692, during the Salem witch trials. It touches on slavery, but the big threat is the damage that rumor and gossip can do. It kind of echos some of the crap going on in the USA right now. I'm probably going to lower the price in March.

I prefer books on Kindle, but I can take ebooks or Mobi on my computer. I should tell you, if you're in England that I was unable to redeem a gift book on Amazon UK, and likewise another lady wasn't able to redeem my gift book to her. Don't know why Amazon.com & Amazon.uk don't work together on that! But let me know if you want to try this!

A.O. (aomonk) | 3 comments Hi K.D.,

I have a new time travel thriller out now, I Am Not Thirteen . It's about a young woman who wakes up on her thirteenth birthday, with no idea why she's traveled to her own past, or what exactly has happened. She has to unravel the mystery while dealing with middle school bullies, overbearing parents, and a sister who helps as much as she hinders.

I can either email you a free download link, or you can get a free copy by subscribing to my newsletter. I can also send you a copy via email.
