Just to chat > Hello! I have a friend, with whom we sometimes play the game where one of us describes a book using emojis, and the other has to guess it. And so she sent me this today. And I am at a loss.

Daria | 4 comments The only thing I was able to pull from her was that the writer is a woman. She was born in 20th century. I think she's not very famous. And the book is somewhat obscure. Can you please help me with the name?

MJ | 1613 comments Hmmm... This is gunna bug the hell out of me!

I'm guessing that the emojis meaning can be a bit flexible anyway to fit the 'sentence'. But apart from the obvious type stuff that the emojis mean, do you guys have any 'this means' between you?

And by the look it reads out a quick run down of the whole plot rather than just the title?

Amanda (misterfive) | 215 comments Perhaps the first two, door + rice, indicate the name "Doris"?
Are the feet separators, or are they part of the description?

No, all emojis signifies some parts of the plot.

SamSpayedPI | 2300 comments Well, if the author was famous and the book wasn't obscure, I'd guess something by Anne Rice, judging by the bowl of rice and the spiders and bats. Perhaps Interview with the Vampire? Louis sucks blood from rats when he's recently turned, to avoid preying on humans, and the trumpet could signify New Orleans.

Daria | 4 comments It's not necessarily rice, just some kind of porridge

Ayshe | 4720 comments Interview with a Vampire was suggested in one of your other duplicate threads, too:

I think it's worth asking your friend.

Ayshe | 4720 comments And maybe the thread is more appropriate for the Chat folder, seeing that it's not a book you've read and forgotten and it's known to your friend.

sloppyjoe90 | 26 comments This reads like : the book opens with someone who is very hungry and desperately wishes for food. They go out scavenging for food, then they become mesmerised by some kind of attractive music or something. Unfortunately its a trap. They manage to escape wherever they are and find tons of food. They gorge on the food and dance the night away. Then they leave and go home: there's nothing at home and they are empty handed. Maybe?
