Lewis blames a system that rewards financiers for generating profits without considering the greater effect of how they do it. If people on Wall Street were solely rewarded for creating products that profitably further the common good, they would create those products. I don't know how to incentivize people in that way, but it seems to me it ought to be that way. Of course, the next question is, "Who determines what is the common good?"
