Yanira's latest visit to the pub align with the time of year we're still thinking about new years' goals, so that figures in some to our conversations. She is not afraid of being bored but would like to be allowed to hate things please.

Not on purpose, all of our six major books are by women.

Gail | 44 comments Great episode...I am off to put Vilette on my TBR list. I love books that go on and on about ordinary things.
I must say, Yanira, is so charming and funny and smart.

I sent Y- an email afterwards about the only book about boredom I've ever read - The Pale King by David Foster Wallace. It's an astoundingly tedious work about a man who works for the IRS, but in there are some brilliant thoughts on boredom. It's the book that wasn't finished when DFW died.

And isn't Yanira a great guest! I love having her on.
