If you ever choose the path of crime, break every law known to man, but never EVER mess with the laws of physics.

"If you can't beat them, join them" DOES NOT apply during zombie apocalypse.

Don't open doors that appear in trees with warning signs about entering, or you might be late for dinner. REALLY late for dinner.

if you dungeon-crawl and there is eye of beholder shining ahead, don't rush to it, for it can be an incoming train

Victor If it walks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck...it might be a robot. Or a clone. Beware!

or mimic or doppelganger

Victor Time travel is notoriously risky, with outcomes that are hard to predict. So, here's a time travel tip: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Unless it’s a DeLorean, in which case your flux capacitor will probably work better in almost any other vehicle.

When upgrading you cybernetic body parts, make sure you check for Malware. We don't want a repeat of Jupiter.

message 59: by Nackles (new)

Nackles When time traveling, don’t sweat the small stuff. 1,000 years from now, the room you’re leaving from will be in the exact same layout and only look more futuristic when you get there. You will never appear inside an object that is now taking up the physical space you once left. What you really need to worry about is not sleeping with relatives.

When creating a replicant of yourself, make sure you have a psycho-social tape that will last for more than 20 generations. I can't tell you how many planets we have had to nuke due to this lack of foresight!

message 61: by Art, Stay home, stay safe. (new)

Art | 2546 comments Mod
When terraforming an uninhabitable planet, don't..
Find a planet able to support life, there's no shortage of those!

When taking a photo of a black hole, don't try making it a selfie. It will suck, as in "suck you right in".

message 66: by Kateblue, 2nd star to the right and straight on til morning (new)

Kateblue | 4796 comments Mod
When playing the practical tips game, encourage Brian to write as many practical tips as he can!

Never assume that a book will actually end with an ending and not a cliffhanger

Aw, Z, what disappointed you recently???

Always have your antigravity belt on hand when approaching a cliffhanger :-)

Well, Art, how do you defend yourself if a black hole photo bombs you while you are taking a selfie?

message 71: by Bryan, Village Idiot (new)

Bryan | 480 comments Mod
When making first contact, please don't share any details of first contact movies humans have created. It might give them ideas and it sets a bad precedent.

When the zombies attack, avoid using fire against them. The only thing worse than a zombie attacking you is a flaming zombie attacking you.

message 73: by Kateblue, 2nd star to the right and straight on til morning (new)

Kateblue | 4796 comments Mod
LOL, Bryan. I particularly liked the flaming zombies one.

Zombies. Can't live with them, but they can live without you. They just can't eat without you.

When floating in the vacuum of space try not to blame yourself for forgetting to tether, but instead praise yourself for being a one way explorer!

message 78: by Dan (last edited Apr 24, 2019 12:06PM) (new)

Dan If you travel back in time to a period before you're born, make sure you don't kill either of your parents. Wait until after you're born.

message 79: by Bryan, Village Idiot (new)

Bryan | 480 comments Mod
Hello, this is Dan from the future! Don't listen to past Dan! Killing your parents, even after you are born, won't make you a wizard. I repeat. IT WON'T MAKE YOU A WIZARD!! Past Dan...give up this foolish quest before you destroy the whole of space and time!!

Please clone responsibly. Make sure you adhere to the rules and for god's sake, stop cloning your clone's clone! Clone Protective Services (CPS) is understaffed and already over worked!

That being said, the game doesn't have to stop there, so keep sharing your practical tips with us. One may never be too prepared to face wormholes, clones or zombie invasions!
