Maran | 9 comments So, this is the first time ever I'm trying to do a reading challenge. That's why I picked the Popsugar Reading Challenge. Other than that, I might read some books for myself here and there, but the goal is those 50. Because I think that'll be enough of a challenge for this year.

Also, for those interested, I keep track of my reading over here.

Maran | 9 comments So, during the first 2 weeks of January I've already read 5 books:

A Court of Frost and Starlight: not my personal favourite. It was supposed to be fluff and that's exactly what it was. I liked the set up for the next part of the series (the preview was interesting too). The sex scene was ridiculous. Only read if you absolutely loved the other books (I liked the first two, but hated the third). 2.5 stars

Harry Potter en de Steen der Wijzen: didn't like the beginning. Never did to be honest. But when it got going I was reminded of how amazing these books are. 5 stars

Artemis Fowl: my first attempt at an audiobook (ever) because my brother lost our copy of the book (I mean, technically it was his but yeah...). Didn't necessarily like the audiobook, but I've gotten some tips on how to "read" them. Also not my favourite book of the series, but did make me want to read the others. 3 stars

Style Yourself: it was fine for what it was. The looks were for people my age, but the brands mentioned were expensive (and most people my age don't have that money), so I don't know for whom this book is written. Pretty pictures though. 3 stars

The Language of Thorns: Midnight Tales and Dangerous Magic: Yes please! I love me some fairy tales. And the art was absolutely gorgeous. Definitely made me want to read more books by this author. 5 stars

I'm currently reading: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

5 out of 50 read.

Maran | 9 comments So, I finished To Be or Not to Be: A Chooseable-Path Adventure today. It has been a long, long, long, long time since I read my last choose-your-own-adventure book. And this one is definitely different from the ones I read as a child. But it was for the Popsugar challenge, so I can cross one off the list. 3.5 stars

6 out of 50 read.

It's definitely a good excuse to start reading again. And thank you, you too 😊

Maran | 9 comments So, I've been having a slow couple of weeks because of exams. I also tend to go offline during those times (it prevents distractions). Anyway, I've been slowly working on Alice's Adventures in Wonderland since I can't really get into it. I get why it's a classic and I like the ideas, it's just the energy of the text (if that makes any sense) that doesn't work for me.

Anyway, I probably have more time to read (and to update) next week since my last exam is on monday and my schedule for the rest of the week is pretty empty.
