DolphinBlue (dolphinblue12) | 45 comments Most of my Amazon book reviews do not sync to Goodreads, though the status (currently reading, read, etc.) and rating do sync.

It seems that status and rating sync because those link to the Kindle app. And when I write reviews via the Kindle app, those sync.

But when I write reviews on the Amazon website (which I prefer because it's much easier), they do not sync. Any way to get them to sync?

CBRetriever | 486 comments copy paste should work

otherwise, I have no idea if it's possible at all.

DolphinBlue (dolphinblue12) | 45 comments Yeah, that would be a lot of work! Probably 50+ reviews. I was hoping for a setting I could turn on, but I don't think it exists.

Miss M | 37 comments It doesn’t. There have been several discussions on this over the years in the Feedback group but GR staff have indicated it’s not going to happen, primarily because of different standards and ratings definitions between the two sites.

DolphinBlue (dolphinblue12) | 45 comments Thanks Miss M. Kinda bizarre since Amazon owns Goodreads, but I understand Amazon has been moving away from its customer-friendly stance for a couple of years now, taking away the discussions on the Amazon site, giving pushback more on returns/problems, among several other examples.

CBRetriever | 486 comments Amazon bought an already established site and merely linked it to their site. They didn't create it, hence the differences. It's the same with Audible (they own that) and Kindle Direct Publishing (has its own forum)

DolphinBlue (dolphinblue12) | 45 comments Understand. I think it looks bad when a company doesn't do anything to integrate an acquisition, yet pushes users towards it. Ditto for eBay and PayPal, which were very disconnected (in terms of costumer service) and probably still are. Ironically and for reasons I'm not yet aware of, eBay now allows direct credit card payments in lieu of PayPal. Anyway that's a different topic.

CBRetriever | 486 comments but if they'd changed Goodreads and Audible too much all the customers of those sites likely would have abandoned them. They are much more integrated than they used to be

I have to do a lot of manually adding books to Goodreads anyway, as I also purchase them from Baen, Tor and the Humble Bundles as well as downloading books from gutenberg.
