Riq is a young, smart, black boy who is a time traveler and historian who goes back in time to fix problems that have happened that changed the future in a bad way.
Riq wanted to help the other historians that wait for the time travelers to help fix the problem and solve the riddles they have, he also wanted to help his Great Aunt MIssy that was being sold as a slave the same time he was.

The conflict is Riq getting through all of his trials of running away from slave catchers or keeping James safe and to get him back to his parents safely. He has a lot of problems with slave catchers and trying to hide but these people with a boat help him get away and to the place he needs to get to. He has help from a little boy and his friends that are there with him. He and his friends get caught and they are put in a cell with other historians that are all ready to help with them getting out. He has a lot of trials but he overcomes all of them and makes it through his mission and keep the underground railroad going.

I like the book The Infinity Ring because it tells you about how slavery is a bad thing and why they are trying to stop it. It tells you what slavery can do to families and how many people are helping to try and stop slavery. It also talks about a family trying to get free but so many people are trying to stop them, but this family has a lot of help from people that are already free they hide them in their homes so they can get free. This is a really good book and it is a great way to learn about slavery, why it should be abolished and the people that help the runaway slaves.
