Hooray--Water for Elephants is there, and it's on my tbr list to be read soon.
For the most part, the only books I haven't read on that first page are ones I don't plan to ever read. I'm not into vampire books, and chose to watch the movie The Fault in Our Stars over reading the book so I could get the crying over with in a couple of hours.

OK, I sent you the note before I saw this. Can you please send me the link to Rosemary's profile so that I can get in touch with her.
Thanks!

We are actually behind schedule as the new shelf should be up by the 20th.....dang.....So much going on these days.

I'd like to pick the Abandoned shelf. It was picked once before, but it was 5 years ago, so I hope that's OK?
Maybe we can finish some of the books that other folks gave up on!

Thanks Rosemary...Since you are so on the ball I don't need to get in touch with you at all. I just love when things go smoothly.
And Abandoned is fine as long as it hasn't been picked in the last 2 years, so we will go with that. I'm headed over now to set up the "What will you read?" thread.
Don't forget to pick a jpg file for the avatar and send me the link by PM.
Thanks again!

We haven't been posting to this thread for the last few months, sorry, BUT
The shelf picker for October 2017 is........Jayme(the ghost reader) and she picked Ghosts as the shelf. Head on over to the What Will You Read? thread, take a look at the shelf, and let us know what ghostly reads are on your radar for October.

I'm just waiting on a PM from Jayme telling me who she picked for next month. If I don't hear by Wednesday, I will pick 5 shelves and we will do a poll.

Sorry all. Totally my fault. I have put up the "what will you read" shelf for April and it is Wishlist
There should be a lot for everyone as it is a rather general shelf. Check it out.

I've been honored with the opportunity of choosing next month's shelf and after much browsing I've decided on Keepers. Hope you find many enjoyable reads inside!
The review shelf for June is up and Jamie has picked Biographical Fiction
Remeber in order to be considered as a future shelf picker, you must post at least one review in the Review thread for the month! Here is this month's Biographical Fiction Review thread.

The poll results are in and the shelf of choice was Mythology. Take a gander at the list and head on over to the what will you read shelf for the month and let us know what your plan is.

August is just flying by isn't it. LOL I forgot all about my mythology book. Better get crackin'

Police Procedural
I'm hoping that everyone can find something to read next month!
Thanks for being the shelf picker, Sassafrass, I know I have several books on that shelf that I will choose from!

I have a few on this shelf that are also a part of my mount to be read :)
Looking forward to my September reads

May I suggest this one as it has a lot of books on it.
Scariest books of all time
My apologies, everyone!
We are looking for ways to shake up the monthly shelf so I think for the rest of the year, you'll have to be extra patient with us. Hopefully, we'll be able to announce what's happening for 2019 in December.
For now, I'm going to make an executive decision for October. Thank you, Joyce, for the suggestion but that's a listopia and not a shelf as we usually use :)
October is our anniversary (the big round 10) so I've picked birthday
I think there are only picture books in the first 2 pages but some YA novels popped up in page 3 so you'll have to do some exploring but that's not to say that you can't read picture books ;)

yes, tags on the books though not tags on listopia.

Marina, it's been an absolute pleasure to have you! And don't worry, the monthly shelf won't completely disappear.
I did originally create the group for doing challenges that I'd love to do. The monthly shelf was something I drew on from another group. They were originally on Shelfari but I prefer Goodreads so I tried to do something similar. Shelfari shut down a couple of years ago and the group is now on Goodreads. Since you love monthly shelf, you may like this group. They're definitely a lot more organised with the monthly & reviews. You can find them here: Play Book Tag
I'm too involved everywhere else to be active there but I still do check in now & again. My strength obviously lies with reading challenges lol

Awww, thanks ♥
Also, thanks for sharing that other group, I knew it already and was actually a member until some time ago, but I ended up leaving - though it was in no way for personal reasons, of course. I must admit I prefer PAS' format, both for monthly shelf as well as for challenges.
So sorry all!! As Tien said, we are working on updating the monthly shelf process for 2019 and I just dropped the ball for October.
Thanks Tien for setting up the threads and choosing birthday. I like having that as a shelf since it is our birthday month!

***ANNOUNCEMENT***
We are reshuffling the way we're picking our monthly shelves and this folder will be archived at the end of the year.
We have set up a new folder and you can review the revised how-to, here.
The easiest way to describe it is we're going to have a pot that will be filled with shelf nominations throughout the year from which we will draw the monthly shelf.
To start this off (especially for the January shelf draw), we will be requesting all reviews in the next 2 months to include a shelf nomination. You may nominate the same shelf, if you wish, it'll be counted as extra entry/ies. Please note that shelves picked in the last 2 years (the list is here) can not be nominated.
