Adrienne has chosen me to pick the shelf for February. Now the cool change has come and I have survived the heat and feel human again I should be able to come to a decision over the weekend (I am currently trying to decide between four shelves).

Coralie wrote: "After much tought, I have chosen thought provoking for the February shelf."Excellent choice! I've read a bunch of these but there are also quite few to go on my TBR list. Now I just have to figure out what to start with.
Coralie wrote: "After much tought, I have chosen thought provoking for the February shelf."Interesting choice, Coralie! Let me see what I have in my TBR that fits the shelf.
Lots of books from my 'get from library' shelf! Luckily, I also found tons of books from my TBR. This year my big push is reading books that have been on my TBR more than a year.
woah -I'm daunted even by the name of the shelf! ha ha ha, will look through and hopefully, there are books there that I've already chosen for ScatterShelves ;)
Wow! Lots of books from ScatterShelves are there! Found 4 on the first page alone. Now to choose where to start.
Coralie, your choice of topic is awesome. This pushes a few books that I've wanted to read forever to the top of my tbr.Peace,

Coralie wrote: "The shelf picker for March is Amy."Thanks, Coralie. I looked around and came up with something I hope everyone will like. I find myself getting frustrated waiting for the next installment in a series I'm reading to be written. That led me to my choice of:
Stand Alone
for the March shelf. Hope you find some interesting choices!
It's that time again...April is approaching quickly so a new shelf picker is in order. I just selected and messaged Julia O. Can't wait to see what she selects. Congrats!
I am looking forward to what she picks, too. Thanks for getting that done, Amy. As you say, April is fast approaching.
Amy wrote: "It's that time again...April is approaching quickly so a new shelf picker is in order. I just selected and messaged Julia O. Can't wait to see what she selects. Congrats!"I have not joined in a on Pick-A-Shelf month for a little while. Looking forward to seeing what April will bring.

Did you get some confirmation back that she saw your message and is working on it, Amy?

You read my mind, Susan. I was just thinking that I haven't heard a word from Julia O nor has she posted here. Maybe one of the mods can advise on what action to take...
Do we have anyone picking a shelf yet? Just curious as I was looking at choosing my books for next month.
Amy wrote: "No word from Julia O. yet. Should I pick someone else?"I would. I think in the past that is what has been done when no one has replied in a day or two. I'd email JuliaO, too, so she knows that you had to pick someone else.
I just checked the rules and this is what it says:To assist in timeliness, we would request the next shelf picker to be picked & possibly notified by around the 20th day of the month (give or take 1-2 days) at the latest. If the chosen Shelf Picker doesn't respond within five days from the first notice, a group poll will be posted with a list of shelves chosen by the moderators for a group vote on the next month's shelf.
I picked Julia O. and notified her here and via PM on March 17, but she has yet to respond. Looks like the above rule must be invoked.

Ah ha! I figured there was a written rule somewhere :)
My apologies, all... I've just been too exhausted to do anything else but work, eat & sleep (oh I do shower at times in between ;p)
I've set up a poll with a somewhat random shelves... pretty sure we've not done any of these shelves. I did check the google doc though with my babybrain, it's possible that I've missed things. Let me know, if I did.

So I've never participated in this group, I get so many notifications it's crazy hard to keep up. Can someone tell me what this thread means? We read a book based on the "shelf that's picked" is that correct?

You've got it, Stephanie. This is where we will announce the shelf for the next month, then we will post a thread for people to list what they want to read on that shelf. Last, we will put up two threads, one for short reviews of the books that you end up reading, and one for posting quotes from the threads.

Since my choice for April shelf picker never replied, Tien asked that I try again in May. The person I have selected is Nadine. I will send her a PM now to let her know.
Insteresting choice! But don't you have to pick a shelf instead of a list? Shelves tend to have a lot more books.
Nadine wrote: "Hi, everyone!

Thanks for picking so quickly, Nadine. I love short stories, but Bea and D.G. are right, we need to go for the list, so I will use the one that Bea listed. I can't wait, I have so many short story collections that are on the list.

FYI, I've PM Nadine last week though I've just looked at her profile today and there doesn't seem to be any activity for the past 1.5 weeks. She's probably busy but for the sake of timeliness, if she hasn't responded by Friday, I'll do a random draw for the June Shelf Picker.
I've not heard from Nadine at all so I've done a random draw and have pm the shelf Picker. I've asked for Shelf to be announced by Monday.
Have a terrific weekend, everyone xx

Hello everyone,I've picked beach-reads for the month of June. I could use both a light read and the beach to go with it right about now!

Great! Just the kind of books I need for my move to a new state and find a new house retirement month!

Congrats on your retirement, Bea. Sounds like you're going to be busy!"
Sure am, Lynn. Just spent the last hour looking up all my challenge books on the new library system. Might have to re-think some of my plans. :)

Awesome pick! Can't wait to get reading...there are a lot that I haven't read or even considered on this shelf for me.
I am tickled that Debi has chosen me as the shelf picker for July! In honor of Independence Day and Bastille Day, I thought that Alternative History would be a fun twist. It will challenge me to try something new (or encourage me to catch up on some series that have gotten away from me)!https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/...
