AmyKatherine1974 (amykay74) | 4 comments Book was read in the early 80s to my brother as a child. He states the main character is a girl who lives in a black/white world with no color and she finds something (he beleives it to be a star) and surge world starts having color.

He says the illustrations were very Joanna Bradford-ish but not her .

Cassie's Magic Flowers by Nan Roloff?

From Worldcat.org: "Cassie is a little girl who lives in an unusual town: it's black and white. And everyday was the same: no seasons. Nothing ever changed. — Cassie began wondering if things were different elsewhere. She began wishing on a star, and things began changing after that for the better. And the citizens of the town saw the changes, too. — Really sweet story of optimism and hope."

Great. Glad we could help, Amy. Worldcat.org is really helpful for finding old children's books.
