Structure of Book Group

Hi all,
Just wanted to throw out some ideas for consideration for reading our first book.

1. I believe we agreed on Algorithms of Oppression by Safiya Noble but please correct me if that's inaccurate.

2. It may be useful to suggest time-frames for reading but those who can't meet the deadlines should still continue to participate. Does approx. 60 pages a week seem right?

3. We could use MLK Day wknd (probably too soon) or Presidents Day wknd to discuss as a group (whether online or over the phone) but beyond that discuss over the discussion list.

4. Potential start date the week of Jan. 14th?

Yes -- Algorithms of Oppression! And launching the book group on the 14th sounds fine with me. Presidents Day weekend sounds good to me. Is the idea that we've finished the book by then? Question -- do people post questions that we'd like discussed as we are reading?

I've already finished Algorithms of Oppression: How Search Engines Reinforce Racism and have just posted a review on Goodreads.
