Rick | 2 comments About 10 years ago I read a detective murder mystery where most or all of the detectives were World War II veterans, now working as big city detectives. I think it was New York, but I could be wrong. The book itself was set in the 1950's and the murder being investigated occurred in a city park. One HUGE piece of evidence was a bracelet and the final scene and subsequent "Holy Sh$#@!" moment plays out during a conversation on a city park bench with the lead detective and (I think) a child. I believe the final line of the book was "Where is this man?" or something similar. It was such a good book and now that I've rediscovered a love for reading for the LIFE OF ME I cannot find it...Part of me thought it was Stuart Woods but I can't find anything in his body of work that sounds like it, so I think I'm wrong. Please help :-)

Rick, did a group of fellow WW2 soldiers form a detective agency or work for the same city police department?

Who was murdered?

Have you tried searching on Worldcat.org? For example:

https://www.worldcat.org/advancedsearch > Subject: World War 1939-1945 Veterans Detectives [or Detectives could be a Keyword] | 1950-2010 ? | Not juvenile | Fiction | Book | English

Rick ~~
This sounds very interesting!
You can "bump" your thread every month or so. This pushes your thread back to the top of the folder instead of languishing here on page 153 where fewer eyes will see it. Get back in the game! Bump!
You can do this by typing a new comment at the end of the thread, or even by typing the word "bump."
Good luck!
