Now, forcing yourself to read something that you earlier dismissed as unreadable would be a serious, serious challenge.
Yes, and beyond me.I'm challenging myself to finish Michelle McNamara's book which is not all that well written, so far (I'm on page 100).
So many books, so little time...

are we limited to TC?
"Limited"? Have you noticed how many books are in our TC library? And those are just the ones I'vs been able to stick on there. There are thousands more I know of personally that aren't even in the database...yet.

capisce?
Oh erm ....

This is a TC group, however I am opposed to censorship so I'm not going to tell you that it's not allowed.

I'm reading Bitter Blood: A True Story of Southern Family Pride, Madness, and Multiple Murder so far its good. This story is stranger than fiction.I finished reading it and I gave it 3.5 Star. The author was longwinded and the story did drag at times but I still liked it. At times I couldn't believe it was a true story.

no I wouldn’t consider asking group members to keep reading challenge parameters to TC as censorship.
sorry if my question seemed outlandish but I think it’s more censorious to answer a question in a way that makes a questionner feel foolish for asking it.

Don't feel foolish, Lucille, it was a perfectly legitimate question. :)
Now my problem is figuring out if there's a TC book on this planet that I haven't already read that I haven't meant to get to at some point.

hmmmmmmmmmmm, maybe, instead:
-restricted to
-confined to
-circumscribed to/by/within
-choose from column A only, cause ain’t no column B, chump
-all exits are blocked by decree, suckhah
-the cheese has left the maze, but keep on runnin’ mickey/minnie, run
-no jumpin’ over our brand spanking new border wall, paid by mexico, pedro
my choices are almost limitless!!!!!!!!!!!!
Easy for me. I have around 150 TC on my bedroom bookshelf that I haven't read yet. I've been meaning to get to all of them. I will look to see if there is one I started and then put aside for one reason or another and that is the one I will go with.

I'm not the moderator of this group so I dont really get to decide, but I'll say it anyway....The group is a True Crime group. We come here to read and discuss True Crime books unless we post in the 'anything goes' thread so I would think it just goes without saying that the challenges are for True Crime books unless stated otherwise.

okayokay, calm down girly, it was just a fricken question, sheesh.
maybe take a nice walk around the block or something ....take a deep breath or two .... maybe a sitz bath .....mmmmmmmmm so relaxing and helps loosen up that cramped sphincter

who said you weren’t? where are they? I’ll rip ‘em a new gill or sumptin.
Ummmm, you did?Now reading a book I've wanted to read for ages: Sid Vicious: No One is Innocent. For the challenge.
I chose Eye Of The Beholder by Lowell Cauffield for this challenge, partly because it fulfilled 2 other challenges I am working on and because I had started it a while back for a challenge and didnt read very far before I decided to put it aside. If I remember correctly, Cauffield was the author of the month for a challenge in the Shelfari True Crime group. Here is my review: Eye Of The Beholder by Lowell Cauffiel
2 stars
I've read other books by this author that were very good but this one was just too long for the amount of information (over 500 pages) and ended up being very repetitive. It was almost surprising at the number of people the author found that said how wonderful the victim was and how bizarre the husband was. I think it would have been a much better book if it was about half the size. This book is about the murder of Diane Newton by her husband in 1991.
I'm trying to get through Paddy Whacked: The Untold Story of the Irish American Gangster after putting it aside for a few years to focus on other stuff, but also simultaneously trying to get through a stack of library books before they're all do back... which is making getting through any of my own books difficult lol

For January and February, read a book that you have meaning to read for a while, or a book you started and never finished, for reasons other than it was unreadable.
