A lot of debate about this one. Check this video to hear what Grant Morrison had to say about it: http://youtu.be/8wQ2x0OKBjU

Stephanie | 1 comments Batman doesn't kill Joker at the end. The Killing Joke is illustrating the stalemate between Batman and Joker where they are caught in a ridiculous infinite loop battle where neither one can possibly win. There's a good discussion here: http://qr.ae/dGVck.

Justin (justinbienvenue) I had been dying to read this comic for the longest time. I just recently picked up a copy from my local library. I just finished reading it and will probably give it another read because it's just so good.

As for my thoughts on the ending: I agree with Stephanie, they constantly go back and forth and it's a clear stalemate. I loved toward the end how Batman almost sympathizes with Joker and even offers to help rehabilitate him by extending an olive branch. But in typical fashion the Joker turns him down.

I think Batman holds him up and wants to punch him square in the face and maybe he does but deep down he wants to kill the Joker because he's tired of the back and forth game and he wants it to end as he states in the beginning. However he doesn't kill him because that's not what Batman does and he'd be no better than the Joker, if not worse.
