Happy New Year everyone! It's been a lovely couple of days for me so far. With my sprained ankle and a snow storm outside, I've been positively spoiled with free food and lodging at my friend's place (thank heavens for friends who don't send you away when you're in trouble!). I've finished two books already, but I'm eagerly looking for more.
I made a new year's resolution of setting aside one or two euros per every book I read. If I have more money, I'll set aside one euro for every 100 pages as well, but if I'm going to read as much as last year, I'll certainly be in trouble with that! But, it's definitely worth trying!
I'm in Japan for the first three weeks of January. I posted about 12 postcards and two small parcels yesterday including to my penpals. When I get home to Australia I start a new job on the 29th.
Never Cry Wolf - Farley Mowat
I read this 2 or 3 times. A remarkable semi-autobiographical, semi-fiction book by a Canadian environmentalist.

Thank you! I'll see if I can get it!
On another note, this week seems to be particularly lucky for me. On Monday, I won a book. Today, I won some juice AND movie tickets to see "Greta". Both of them came as a great surprise!
I just watched the movie of Five Feet Apart and my heart is achy. It was great! I definitely recommend reading the book first though!
Sorry to everyone I've been neglecting! Life's been pretty hectic. I'm done with exams, I'm preparing for the JET programme, and today, I got married! What a rollercoaster!
Wow! So many exciting things going on for you Mion! Congratulations on wedding the and you got into the JET program? Woohoo!
Congratulations Mion. Does anyone else fuss about the stamps they use on outgoing mail? I've been purchasing unfranked vintage stamps to make more of an effort to pretty up my outgoing mail. Unfortunately modern stamp designs are a bit limited here in Australia.
Thank you, everyone!Anne, yes, I got in! Since I'm from a non-English speaking country, we also knew our placement beforehand. It's in Saku city, Japan. I'm so excited! But of course, no desire to depart with my beloved books...
Diana, I used to do that! But ever since they closed down the post office near me. We have such gorgeous stamps (animals, architecture, national clothing), so it's a pity that I would have to go so far to get them! Now, it's easier to get whatever stamps they sell at some shops rather than go specifically to the post office in order to get them...
Please read, share, comment on a short story i wrote for my fiction writing class this summer. Comes with a playlist as well. Blessed be. xoxoxohttps://www.wattpad.com/story/2336958...
