Really great book and series, I just wish another book would come out.

I think, like the Twilight Series, they are geared more for females, though some males do like them. ; )

Can't speak to the Twilight series since I haven't read it but there is definitely a strong romantic thread throughout. However, there is plenty of other stuff going on or I wouldn't have read all three books :)
As an aside, my wife and I went to the All Souls Con in Philly and I was one of perhaps 10(of 300) with a Y chromosome among the attendees;)
LOL, whoa, that's a lot of estrogen in one area. To bring back a blast from the past "Danger Will Robinson!"

Have you read Cherryh's Merovingen Nights Series starting with Angel with the Sword? I've really wanted to read it ever since I went to Venice and this fantasy world is suppose to be based on it.

I've read the novel, but never the shared-world anthologies that followed it. I did enjoy it and would recommend it.
It's definitely inspired by Venice, but it's SF, not fantasy -- the world is part of the Union/Alliance universe (a ways off into the future) but, IIRC, is kind of a backwater with relatively low tech and minimal interstellar contact.
(Having said which, I think that the initial novel is kind of an alternate version of her short story (novella?) "A Thief in Korianth", which definitely was fantasy, and which I would also recommend.)
Thanks, I loved Venice so I'm sure I'll like the story. I found "A Thief in Korianth". It was in Flashing Swords! #5: Demons and Daggers.

Thinking of starting The Eye of the World finally this year!

I just don't know if I'll ever finish the wheel of time series. It just seems so daunting and everyone says the middle of the series starts to drag.

And there's so much middle in that series.

My wife loves that series. I read the trilogy and enjoyed it....not quite as much as my wife but it was still an interesting take on the supernatural creatures trope.
