Reading in bits

A couple of times I have been reading a book, but it was too difficult or not right for the moment, so I set it aside. I find it hard to get these books on Goodreads. Do I let them stay on currently reading the whole time? But that can be so for a year... Or do I set it on currently reading, want to read, currently reading or something? But I think that won't work quit good. Does someone have any tips for me? Or is this something that can be changed on Goodreads...?
