All my lists accumulated, and (possibly) some more.

29-1-2019: I decided to quit reading for lists, as the only thing I achieved was a big list of "books I abandoned because I didn't like them".
Most of the time, reading the description I had a feeling like reading them would be fun - but they weren't. At least not to me - at this moment in time...

Today I finished Down A Narrow Path (Murder at the mansion). NIce read.

I started The Inspector and Mrs. Jeffries. I don't know what to think about it, I like Mrs. Jeffries, but dislike the inspector... Also finished it today, but I never got "into" the book, will not bother to read any more of this series.

I started listening to A Dead Bore. Listened about an hour now, not too interesting, but right now the vicarage is afire, so maybe it will get better.

I started reading The Nature of the Beast. I really enjoy Louise Penny, so I am sure I will like this one!

Today I started (and finished) Murder in the Garden. Not planned for this month, but I felt like reading it!
The last two DI HIllary Greene are IMHO rather different from the ones before (more personal drama), but not too much. I really like them. Will now start the next one, A Narrow Point of View (Murder by Fire).

Every now and then I also read a chapter of the other book(s) I'm reading :)

message 6: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 03, 2019 11:16AM) (new)

Finished A Narrow Point of View. Even more sh** from the team. Well, nice read anyhow, although not as fun as the previous ones.
Also finishedA Narrow Exit (Murder at work). Same goes as for the previous one.
I hope the next books in the series will resemble the first ones more...

Also read Where the Wild Things Are (to make at least any progress on other challenges). Absolutely great - but way too thin....

message 7: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 04, 2019 11:00PM) (new)

Now reading Murder Never Retires. Until now better than the last ones, not too much besides solving a 20 year old murder. And I do like Jimmy :)

Finished it, liked it. Started the next one in the series, A Narrow Margin of Error (Murder of a lover)

message 8: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 04, 2019 11:01PM) (new)

Started listening to The Minimalist Home: A Room-By-Room Guide to a Decluttered, Refocused Life - during my house cleaning chores :)
It's not on any list BTW....

message 9: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 07, 2019 10:36AM) (new)

This morning I finished The Minimalist Home: A Room-By-Room Guide to a Decluttered, Refocused Life. Liked it.

Also finished (Sunday) A Narrow Margin of Error, and started reading Murder Never Misses.

As I'm back to work, my progress will slow down I'm afraid, but I will have my commute time to listen to audiobooks :) Thus I started listening to The City of Falling Angels

Guess I am not too good in reading in order :)

message 10: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 08, 2019 10:32AM) (new)

Today I just continued reading books I started before.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

Yesterday I finished Murder Never Misses, started Murder at Midnight.

Today I continued listening to "The City of Falling Angels". Like it very much!

message 12: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 12, 2019 01:54AM) (new)

Yesterday I finished Murder at Midnight, and read a few chapters in The Nature of the Beast. Also I continued listening to The City of Falling Angels.

Besides that I read some poems in The Rose That Grew from Concrete

Should read some more books that are not about Hillary :)

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished The Nature of the Beast, Started (on Sunday) Ready Player One and finished it today. Loved it (except for some part in the middle of the book, but that doesn´t matter too much). Started Sad Cypress (re-read), and read some poems in The Rose That Grew from Concrete

message 14: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 20, 2019 11:47PM) (new)

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished both Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies about Who You Are So You Can Become Who You Were Meant to Be and Damned.

Started to read Little Men and Crusader's Gold.

Will start a new audiobook later today (during my commute back home).

message 16: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 22, 2019 11:13PM) (new)

Yesterday I started reading Crucible - a new book written by my favourite author. A no-brainer :)
I didn't start any audiobook, as it was snowing, and I had to keep my attention on the road.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Decided to continue listening to A Dead Bore. After that, I will determine if I want to keep listening to or reading these series (I'm at chapter 4, and John Pickett has not even shown. - I know, Miss Silver (Patricia Wentworth), one of my all-time favourites sometimes shows late, but I wouldn't yet dare compare John Pickett to her :))

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

I quit listening to A Dead Bore. I guess because it doesn't feel any realistic to have a young police officer acting as footman to a widowed viscountess, without anyone noticing is even more unrealistic as them having any connection at all.
I then started listening to Hounded, but that also was not to my liking.

Bad choices :(
Don't know which one I will pick for my commute home. Hopefully I like it better...

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished Crucible (yesterday). Continued reading in Crusader's Gold. Don't like it very much, but I have to finish some books, otherwise I won't be able to finish any list (except the non-existint 52 abandoned books in 52 weeks :()

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished Crusader's Gold. Didn't like it at all. Too much random decisions, too many opponents, too much over-the-top :(

Started Fatherland and started listening to Circe. Listening to Circe is rather strange. In Dutch we pronounce nearly every name differently, but I'm getting used to it!

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

When I found out I didn't like Circe and I didn't like Fatherland, I decided to quit reading for lists, so I can read just for fun and not because I feel I should read something that's on any of the lists.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Guess it's me, or the time of year, or whatever, but there are not too many books I like at this moment. Gave up on Body In The Box, and on Murder by the Book.

That means 7 books in my continuing 52 books I abandoned in 52 weeks :(

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Yesterday I started The Stranger Diaries. Finally a book I like to read - got rather desperate!!!

That does not mean I don't like The Rose That Grew from Concrete, I try to read one poem a day. Love them!!!

And I will try to read War and Peace this year...

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Read chapter 1 of War and Peace. Kind of strange. It is absolutely not as I remember it...

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

Listened to How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind: Dealing with Your House's Dirty Little Secrets. Love it. Feels so good, being just a little less slobby than the writer :)

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

Started also listening to Digital Minimalism: On Living Better with Less Technology - ironically listening to it on my smartphone....

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished listening to Digital Minimalism: On Living Better with Less Technology, continued listening to Orphan X

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Will have some priority issues - a new Ruth Galloway book by Elly Griffiths, a new one by Faith Martin - and I am still reading The Stranger Diaries (also by Elly Griffiths :))

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

Started the new Faith Martin: The Riverboat Mystery, continued listening to Orphan X. Guess I'm halfway now.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

Liked the The Riverboat Mystery, but I kind of hated the murdered person, so I didn't actually want the murderer to be found... Now I am reading The Stone Circle. This is really a great read. Not only do I want to know who killed the girl, but I just want to read the story :)
In the meantime I am re-listening How to be Brilliant.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

Listened to Orphan X during my commute. Nearly finished with How to be Brilliant.
Half-way The Stone Circle.
Should start reading in The Rose That Grew from Concrete again.

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

The rest of the week I only listened to Take Control of Your Life: How to Silence Fear and Win the Mental Game. Kind of liked it. It was not the standard male way of thinking, but one I could relate to more!

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, as it is now weekend, I felt free to continue reading The Stone Circle - I knew it would be hard to put it down - and Friday night it's no big deal to stay awake....
Loved the book (and I truly hope Ruth won't leave Norfolk).

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

This weekend I mostly started listening to or reading books that I didn't like too much, so I quitted them. Now reading She. I do kind of like that one. Enough to keep reading anyway.

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished She. Kind of liked it, kind of not liked it - but that makes it interesting. Maybe I will read another book in this series.
Maybe...

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

Started listening to The Art of Invisibility: The World's Most Famous Hacker Teaches You How to Be Safe in the Age of Big Brother and Big Data. Really, really interesting - although I know after listening for 2 hours that is is too bothersome for me to be totally invisible. Good to know, however!!!!

Besides that, I started reading The Lady in the Lake: Camelot, West Virginia, Season 1, Episode 2. I don't know yet whether I will continue these series or not. It's kind of nice, but who wants to read "kind of nice" when there are great books out there?
