The Wandering Cassowary Hey there everyone.
Read a fantasy novel I think it was futuristic around the year 2002. Not sure of title, author or publish date. Story centered around a group of scroungers who set off on a mission to reach the top of an impossible climb. Unfortunately I can't remember much more except that my version of the book had a red cover with art of the cliff on it.
Any help is welcome! It was a fabulous book and I'd like to read it again. Thanks!

Cassandra, what are the fantasy elements?

Can you describe the climbers - how many, their ages and gender, their jobs/skills/interests, why they want to climb this cliff, etc.?

The Wandering Cassowary I can't remember it all but a female protagonist tickles my mind. There were at least four characters climbing they were all from a lower class "from the gutter" types. I can't remember exactly why they were climbing except that I think it was for a job they we're doing. Also supposedly gods lived on the top of the cliff. That really is all I can bring out of memory though

Kylie | 10 comments Son by Lois Lowry had people climbing an impossible cliff in the hopes of finding something magical up top. No one knew what was up there but that there was "something".
It was the 4th book in the Giver series. set in a futuristic period

The Wandering Cassowary I read into Son and while it sounds interesting it's not the one. :/

Cassandra ~~
You can "bump" your thread every month or so. This pushes your thread back to the top of the folder instead of languishing here on page 153 where fewer eyes will see it. Get back in the game! Bump!
You can do this by typing a new comment at the end of the thread, or even by typing the word "bump."
Good luck!

Cassandra, is this book for adults or teens?

I copied a few book details to the topic header. Feel free to edit it.
