Hopefully I will be able to read more than half of them, I am already in possession of about 6 books on the list.
This is an interesting list, with some really old books I hadn't heard of before! The diaspora reads mixed in will be an interesting contrast and comparison I think (Asata, Davis, Morrison, Clemmons). I had to look a lot of these up. Where did your inspiration come from?
I believe that Africa and her children in the diaspora are one, so I always try to mixed it up. So that I get to understand Africa and Africans from different perspectives.
This list is really inspiring! I chose Cockroaches by Scholastique Mukasonga for my Random African Travels Challenge here in this group and am eager to hear your take on Our Lady of the Nile which I have not yet read, either. I enjoyed Beloved and Ghana must go!
This is a great list. I plan to browse through it and pick out several to read. The only one I've read so far is Freshwater, which I thought was very, very strange. Thanks for sharing the list.
Whitlaw, I just finished What We Lose by Zinzi Clemmons. I picked it up from your list. I thought it was fantastic. Thank you for recommending it. I've already posted my review of it.Thanks, again. I look forward to reading more of the books on your list.
