I finished E eyes
The Waste Lands by Stephen King 10/27/2021I can take N-nose
Winds of Fate by Mercedes LackeyNext Up: O
Jan wrote: "BC - did you post this before completing it and then finish it after posting?"YES .... That is ... I noticed the "d" was up and I had not yet finished the book, though now that I look back over the threads, I guess I didn't post it immediately. I know I finished the book that night just before I went to bed.
I finished M for Main Entrance with
by Steven Gaines.An interesting look at the competitive world of high end residential real estate in New York City but way too much name dropping to suit me. I had to read it for the nonfiction book club.
I love the FBI K-9 series!I can take Q for quadruped with The Baby Plan by Kathi Daley. Sorry, I'm using my smartphone now and I can't add the cover.
Jan wrote: "Thanks Patrizia! Karen - I LOVE that book!
Up next: W"
I know! I've been anxious to read it ever since you talked it up. so far, so good!
My degree is in music history so it was right up my alley. Loved all the music talk and thought the Portland, OR atmosphere fun.
Finally finished my book for G (goats), and liked it as much as the first two books in the series :)Marriage Can Be Mischief (Amish Matchmaker #3), by Amanda Flower, finished 11/3/21 ★★★★
I think we're on W now? I lost track with the start of the new page... If that's right, I can take W for the woman on this cover
Just finished W (woman) and liked it as much as the previous books in the seriesNaughty in Nice (Royal Spyness #5), by Rhys Bowen, finished 11/8/21 ★★★★
Finished V for Violin with
by Virginia Euwer Wolff.Such a beautiful book - it brought tears to my eyes more than once. Jan - Both of my parents earned music degrees from Juilliard (voice and piano accompanist) so even though I inherited none of their talent, music has always been a hugely important part of my life too. It's fun to come across a book that is a bit out of the mainstream and an author who is genuinely interested in teaching you what she knows. I'm so glad I read it.
I'm so very glad you enjoyed it Karen! It sounds like music has been a huge part of your life. This is the perfect book for those who understand all the time and practice that goes into making such beautiful music.
Finished my Y book (yellow eyes) and liked it as much as the first in the series. Book #3 is already on my list to read in 2022 :)Savage Run (Joe Pickett #2), by C.J. Box, finished 11/10 ★★★★
I finished T - Top Hat with
by Sarah M. EdenI can take C with Christmas Tree using
by Steven Rowley - It's a little hard to see with the coloring but it's in the house above the dog...Next Up: D
Thanks Jennifer! You're right - it was a little hard to see but once I enlarged it - sure enough it was there. Up next: D
Just finished Z for horizon. The mystery was really good, but the writing style cost the book a full star. One of the primary characters actually talks in text acronyms -- instead of saying "got to go," she says "GTG" -- which then has to be 'translated' for the reader. Even more annoying, though, are the frequent bullet lists (!!)
"The highlights of the story:
* blah blah
* blah blah
* blah blah"
I get that she might be thinking that way, but to actually *write it that way in the book? Ugh!
All that said, I probably will read the next in the series when I can use a beekeeper somewhere in a challenge :)
Mind Your Own Beeswax (Queen Bee #2), by Hannah Reed, finished 11/18/21 ★★★
