Thanks for the update Teri. I really need to read one of her books. I own the audio of The Masqueraders. I should get to it sooner than later.

She writes straight romance - my least favorite; mysteries that I really love; and then books like this that fall in between, which I like, too. But most people love her romances the most, so I'm weird there. :)
Jan wrote: "What are your top 5 favorites of her books?"I realized I forgot her humorous romances, which I adore! It's her non-amusing historical romances I generally don't care for.
If you're wanting to try her straight (humorous) romances, my all time favorite is The Grand Sophy. Also right at the top, and perhaps my favorites while I'm reading them, are The Unknown Ajax and Frederica. Also, the Talisman Ring is a good, silly French farce-type book. I've reread all of these many times with great pleasure. I'd suggest you start with whichever one sounds the most interesting to you.
I give all of her mysteries either 4 or 5 stars, except for Penhallow, which I don't like at all. Mysteries were my introduction to Heyer, for years they were all I read of her, and again I'd say start with whatever sounds good to you. My first was Footsteps in the Dark, which I still really enjoy. The mysteries are contemporaries, by the way, though they feel nicely old-fashioned now.
If you like GR read alongs, the Georgette Heyer group will be doing Detection Unlimited, which I gave 4 stars, in September.

I finished W for Wolf with
by Nate Blakeslee. Excellent book about the aftermath of wolf reintroduction in Yellowstone National Park.
If we are looking for M, I can take that with
by Jean Becker. M for Man. Not very original or startling but I think it fits the bill?
Finished my book for Oh Say Can You Fudge (Candy-Coated #3), by Nancy Coco, finished 8/18/21 ★★★★
Still looking for N
I can do N for Neckcloth, with

Jan - at 25% in I decided my W book wasn't holding my attention at all, and stopped reading it. Would you accept W for William Shakespeare with
?If you don't care for that can you just keep it open for me until I find another book with a woman on it? I'm sure it won't be hard.
Jan wrote: "I hate when that happens with a book Teri! I'll take William :)Still looking for X"

I can take Y for Youngster -
NEXT UP - Z
Finally finished my O book for outdoors. The MCs, three friends, were annoying for different reasons, to the point that I will not be continuing the series. Digging Up Trouble (Sweet Fiction Bookshop #1), by Kitt Crowe, finished 9/4 ★★★
Jan wrote: "Thanks Barb! I hate annoying characters...lol."Yes LOL But at least I can cross that series off my list :)
I edited my comment above, because I mixed up two disappointing books I've recently finished. The two annoying sisters were in a different book, but the three friends in Digging Up Trouble were almost as annoying :)
