Orinoco Womble (tidy bag and all) | 2568 comments Bought a new shower head yesterday. Can anyone tell me why it has 8 different colours of LED lights and changes colour every 5 secs? I looked online and apparently others supposedly have colours for water temp: red for hot, blue for cold, yellow or green for warm. But purple? Turquoise? Orange? And every 5 secs doesn't seem like it has much to do with temperature. It's kind of like taking a shower in an old fashioned neon-lit diner, or maybe a 1970s disco. All I need now is a glitter ball!

Groovy Lee Did you purposely buy a shower head with colorful LED lights? They are meant to calm you and help you enjoy your showering experience. So----enjoy:)

I want to get the giant showerhead that has different water pressures. I would love to try out the spring rain one.

Orinoco Womble (tidy bag and all) | 2568 comments No, I just needed a new one and it was on sale at Aldi, so I got it. It works fine, and the lights...well, I have been known to shower in the dark on stressful days, so we'll see how this goes! LOL

Groovy Lee LOL! Hopefully the lights will help you not to have too many stressful days.

Groovy Lee Ori, my daughter is going to help me with EPUP. You should have the book before the weekend is over. Be patient:)

You're all right. I'm very tired so I'm not fussed.

Groovy Lee I'm sorry to hear that, Ori. Try to get all the rest you can.

It's been a busy three weeks but I am purposely taking today and tomorrow off. For the first time in three weeks my back doesn't hurt, thanks to stretching exercises, White Flower Oil, and telling myself it's OK to take a me-day.

Groovy Lee I'm sick with an energy draining cold. I haven't had a cold in years. That's why you haven't heard from me yet. I'm lying around while my maid/daughter does everything for me.

Orinoco Womble (tidy bag and all) | 2568 comments Somehow I knew that. Don't know how. Remember what Hawkeye Pierce told Trapper in an early episode of MASH: "The only way you're going to get better is if you let yourself be sick."

Groovy Lee Ori, you've probably lost interest in the book you volunteered to review for me. I'm sorry it's taking so long. I'm still recovering and my daughter has been running around and doing all the things I'm too sick to do. That cold caused my bronchitis to flare up. I barely have the strength to sit at the computer.

I will make sure she helps me when she gets home from work. I hope you're doing better.

Orinoco Womble (tidy bag and all) | 2568 comments You're fine, sweetheart. I just got a translation job (hurray!) so I'm occupied. You focus on getting well!! Miso soup, ginger/lemon/cinnamon tea with honey. Let people look after you.

message 113: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Yessss! Good for you.

I think I've got another week to go. Thanks, Ori. Talk to you later.

Orinoco Womble (tidy bag and all) | 2568 comments Well, the light-up shower head didn't last more than a month. I fully expected to lose the lights, but not that instead I would get an annoying, high-pitched whine when using the shower!! Back to Aldi it went. DH took it in for me, and apparently they tried to give him a hard time because he "didn't bring the packaging." But several people behind him at the register said, "Yeah, you mean that plastic shell you have to destroy to get the object out of it? How could anyone hang onto that, and why would they?" so he got the money back. About 18 bucks! To add insult to injury, he went to a plumbing supply place and found a normal, boring old shower head with 5 different spray settings instead of 3, much lighter, and only cost about 7 bucks. When I tried it out I found out that it also seemed to have a lot more pressure to the spray than the "disco" version.

Groovy Lee You live and you learn...

Orinoco Womble (tidy bag and all) | 2568 comments Or, at any rate, you live. (Douglas Adams)

Orinoco Womble (tidy bag and all) | 2568 comments You know you're a total book nerd when a GR "friend" writes a review panning a book you've loved most of your life, and you feel like that person hit someone you love. I managed not to leave a comment on the review saying "You don't have a clue, do you?" because I'm a grownup.

A grownup who feels like crying like a little girl because that person hurt my favourite book!

message 118: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee It'll be okay, Ori. As long as you love it, who cares what others think of it:)

Groovy Lee 2020 is just about here. This is where I say:

So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye.

It's been fun back-and-forthing with you.

Take care. Hug your family every day. And be the reason someone smiles.
