Adriana | 3733 comments I think you are talking to me Siobhan? I never do too. Well I do and then I stop. I at least want to declutter my space early so I have that resolution done.

message 10: by Aneta (new)

Aneta | 1442 comments I'm not doing resolutions this year. I usually don't stick with them for long time so I thought it would be nice to not do them for once :D

Do you have TBR for January?

message 11: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 25 comments This is my first challenge. I have only been on goodreads for a month. I have a huge January TBR! Happy New Year! ✌🏻

Jennifer | 25 comments Here is a list of my January buddy reads and TBR- I haven't decided what challenge to use for each yet.

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer
Nine Perfect Strangers
The Seven Deaths of Evelyn HardcastleAn Ember in the Ashes
Cinder
The Ghost of Marlow House
Long May She Reign
The Bear and the Nightingale

I have no clue how to post these with book covers and not links- help!! :\

message 21: by Adriana (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments @Aneta - I've only read 13 Little Blue Enveloped by Maureen Johnson and I gave it three stars. I know a lot of people are reading her Truly Devious book. Hope it goes well (:
I stopped at the third book of Throne of Glass unfortunately. I've given up on Sarah J. Maas books.
Blood Song looks cool. I very rarely read high fantasy. Sometimes it's wonderful and other times I can't understand what is happening lol. Have you decided which one you are going to read first?

message 22: by Adriana (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments @Jena - When you go to add a book at the bottom of the pop up page click book cover instead.
I'd love to read The Bear and the Nightingale later this year. I hope you enjoy it (:
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer wasn't for me and Cinder was good but I think I would love Rapunzel's story more.

message 23: by Adriana (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments Finished my first book of the year. I don't know how I feel...

I might read a graphic novel to shake me off of that funk and then move on to something else.

Just finished my first book too! I really enjoyed it and I'm excited to move to the next. What book did you just read?

message 25: by Abi (new)

Abi (booksa144) I have also finished my first book of the year, Beasts Made of Night. Beasts Made of Night (Beasts Made of Night, #1) by Tochi Onyebuchi I was kind of disappointed, as the main character grew less likable as the story went on. The book also moved slowly.

I read Throne of Glass in December and I didn't like it. I mean story was okay but these characters were super annoying. But my friend love this series and she told me that it gets so much better so I will at least try. If I don't like it I won't finnish this series.
Blood Song is reread for me and it's so good! But I don't really remember was happen in it. I want to reread it because I want to finnish this series. I hope I'm still going to like it.
I just started The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue.

Adriana | 3733 comments @Grace - The Visitors by Simon Sylvester . It's a mystery with selkies. I don't really know what happened. What is real and what is not. It's a strange book. How about you?

@Abi-That sucks ): My book changed a lot in the last half as well which was good for a while but everything just became too much? I'm not sure how to describe it. What do you want to read next?

@Aneta-It's written well to an extent. I think if I reread from the beginning I would give it a lesser rating. Maybe you do end up liking it though. How long since you've read Blood Song? I want to reread and finish some series this year. I finally finished a trilogy last year after six years. It was really satisfying. Is the Gentleman's Guide the first book in a series?

@Jena-No problem!

message 29: by Adriana (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments I'm reading a short classic next: We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson . It's by the author who wrote The Haunting of Hill House.

message 30: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 26 comments Shoot I am a day late for checking in... I am ready!

message 31: by Aneta (new)

Aneta | 1442 comments @Adriana - We will see, maybe I will really like it :)

I think I read Blood Song in 2014. That's a long time ago but I remember I loved that book. It's a trilogy and all books are out so I would like to finish it this year.

What series did you finished?

Gentleman's Guide is first in the series (maybe duology) but I think that sequel has different main characters.

message 32: by Adriana (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments I finished the Born Wicked trilogy. It's this series with three sisters and a prophecy. I really enjoyed it but it also angered me at the same time. One of the sisters was a pain, it ended weird, amd I didn't like the romance. I still enjoyed it because there was just so much drama.

message 33: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 26 comments Just finished Me Before You (Me Before You, #1) by Jojo Moyes ... I bawled my eyes out multiple times but absolutely loved it. I usually stick more to Fantasy, Sci-fi, and paranormal but couldn't put that one down. Now what to read next!

message 35: by Aneta (new)

Aneta | 1442 comments @Adriana
I think I heard about this series and read some mixed reviews. Is it written by Jessica Spotswood?

@Alyssa
I tried to read Me Before You 2 years ago and I DNF half way through. Everyone was telling me that it's a beautiful book but I just couldn't finish it. But I read it in czech so translation could be the reason as well :D

message 36: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 26 comments Started The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn today and can't put it down! Anyone else read this one?

message 37: by Abi (new)

Abi (booksa144) Finished a couple of books today!

message 38: by Adriana (last edited Jan 07, 2019 09:07PM) (new)

Adriana | 3733 comments @Aneta- Yes it is!

Wow, everyone is doing so well. I've got to pick up the pace.
I couldn't finish my last book because the ebook library loan took it from me before I could finish. So I'm moving on to Decluttering at the Speed of Life: Winning Your Never-Ending Battle with Stuff. I'm hoping to have it done in the next couple of days.

@Alyssa - I haven't but I know a lot of readers have loved it.

message 39: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 25 comments I haven’t updated yet but just wanted you guys to know I’m still here. I will be finishing 3 books by the end of the week and I’m also doing a reading sprint this weekend with 2 books.
