Good so far. I wanted to read three books in January that would fit into BINGO squares. My first true read this month was Mark Critch’s memoir “Son of a Critch” for a book that made me LOL. Next up is “Songs for the Cold of Heart”.
Good so far. I wanted to fill some squares for 2019 Canadian BINGO. My first book this year was A Good House by Bonnie Burnard for I1 A former Giller Prize winner. I would like to meet many of our Canadian authors, including Donna Alward author of recent release Secret Millionaire for the Surrogate, which I finished reading last week. I am currently reading Mary, Mary by Canadian author Lesley Crewe, which is known to make people LOL.
Years ago - like maybe 15 years ago - my husband gave a pile of books all by Jane Urquhart and I have never actually read one of them. Big oops, they just sit on my TBR shelf. Both Away and The Stone Carvers are on my list for Bingo I3 so I'll make sure to open one up this month.
I tried to read The Whirlpool years ago and found it impenetrable. I’ve always wanted to try The Stone Carvers though.
How are the resolution reads coming along? I have not done well in relation to Canadian reads but did finish Beartown which has been recommended by many and Remember Us (50% Canadian author as it is written by a friend of mine and her American friend) which I have had on my bedside table for too long.
i am now in the midst of The Little Old Lady Who Broke All the Rules and Doomsday Book which were book club christmas exchange books from 2017 and 2016 respectively. Our book club challenge for our February meet up is to read and discuss our christmas books.
I was trying not to buy more books until reading more from my shelves but confess to a book outlet purchase after the announcement of the CR long list!
