The main character is a girl who I remember being a teen, and she can feel the energy of rocks and even talk to them.
She has a large rock that is either the heart or spirit of a mountain and she keeps him in her bag as they go on a journey. I believe the rock had an odd name that began with a J? There also might have been another member of the group but I don't remember.
It is possible that this book is part of a series but I'm not sure.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I recently started to mine crystals and thought of this book. It would be great to re-read it now!
