My story's up. It's a new one, but it's a mash-up of characters I've introduced here in previous stories. Those stories are:
Edge of Darkness - March 2017
Estrella - July 2015
Collette - March 2018
Trial by Time - April 2016

Created a post on Facebook. If you see it, please share it to help spread the word. Who will be proclaimed, Grand Champion of the Science Fiction Microstory Contest?

I've just posted a different story from the one Jot included - I'll ask him to remove that one. (Jot had kindly included it, as I haven't been a member of the group for a couple of years or more.)
I don't know that the one I've posted is better, just one of my favourites as something a little different. It was a joint winner back in December 2013. I guess it just suits my mood at this time of year ...
I removed the other story. Happy New Year and best luck to all toward the title Grand Champion of the Science Fiction Microstory Contest.
The Grand Champion will pick the theme for February, and we will switch back to the normal contest, until maybe another six years. Once I get my phone application complete, I may be able to find some time to put together a jot website for the contest. Until then, we are here...

It's like an alternate universe swallowed a time distortion and belched out a subspace displacement!
I think I lost my car keys some-when.

I remember your story from all those years ago - and it was good indeed!

Silver surfer's been done. Grok the goodness? No, grock has been done too--long ago.
Found my keys with my Android device locater app. They were right where I left them, but chronologically out of sync by three microseconds.

And thank you, Andy - that was indeed a good writing month :o)

I have made pings to each of the contributors, including direct email, message via LinkedIn or Goodreads and a post to the old LinkedIn contest, which has drawn some attention. Also posted about this on the Facebook's Science Fiction page to try to draw some new participants.
From the original rules on the LinkedIn contest:
1) The story needs to be your own work and may be posted on a public site. If you don't want your story posted publicly, please let me know. You maintain responsibility and ownership of your work to do with as you please. You can withdraw it at any time.
For Goodreads, those stories that were posted are already posted publicly on our group. My intention here to is to try to give anyone who participated in our contest credit for doing. That said, I have not posted stories from everyone, because I still have a number of communications open and would like them to be able to post their work under their name. No one has responded to say that do not want to participate. Anyone who does would certainly not be on this BEST OF challenge.
Here are some of the responses back:

I appreciate you keeping up with me. I still value the Microstory Contest and hope to get back to it . Life has been over the top crazy for about 2 months now.
I'll looked see if I have one of those at the right length. Thanks for thinking of me.

Happy New Year to you! Best wishes to you and yours.
I've just joined the group and posted a different story. So please do remove the one you've posted - unless you want to advise me I've made the wrong choice!
It will be interesting to see who comes up with what and how many stories you get. There must have been quite a lot of different people involved over the years.
Joy Smith
Hi! The holidays are fun and busy, as I know they are for you. Are you thinking of a specific story? A reprint? A theme?
Thank you for the invitation!
W.A. Fix
Sounds like a fun contest. I think I like "Nin's Glory" The best. Let's use it. It'll be interesting to see how it holds up to some of these really good writers in the group now. I'll check in on the comments thread later.
Thanks for remembering me.
Jack McDaniel
Definitely planning to, Jot. I am too busy to post stories, but I do read them every month.
G.C. Groover
Sorry I didn't get a story in for my theme...things just got a little busy and I never could get myself to sit down and write one.
I will post one, possibly Special Materials but I may edit it a little.
Thanks for running this.

Hi Jot - Well, first , congratulations on keeping the contest going for all those six years. You do a fine job of integrating new folks into the mix.
And thank you for thinking of me in regards to the contest. I'm fine with Maturity being my entry, but if I can find the time in the next couple weeks, I think I might want to tinker with it a little bit. Whether I modify it or not, I'll let you know, say, by three weeks from today, and if I don't get to it, then just submit the original entry. It will be interesting to see what folks select.
Jon Ricson
Thanks for including me. Will we be publishing a “Future is Shirt” this year?
Richard Bunning
That’s a fine idea. I have updated ‘Versatile Sapiens’ a little. I would appreciate it if you could see yourself clear to using this new version.
I wish every success to this project and your ongoing, regular, monthly contest. New version should be attached.
All the best to you and yours for 2019.
J.F. Williams
That's a good choice, Jot. Probably my most popular story. Thanks.
Clement Chow
Happy new year! I'm doing fine, thank you. It's good to hear you're continuing the contest. I would like to enlist my previous story, Mirrored Front-to-Back. Thank you.
Tom Huber
Yes, please feel free to include "Love Told Twice" in the micro story contest.
Rick Levine
My story, “Winner takes all” (589 words), is attached. It was published in “The Future is Short – Volume 2” as “Winners Take All”. I think I prefer “Winner Takes All”, as it doesn’t portend the ending.
Tom Tinney
Hey Jot, Feel free to use the story. I avoid Goodreads. Way too many trolls. May check it out regardless.
Allen Quintana
I am mulling my muse on a novel-sized tome--got about 5k drafted so far, and am researching the science to make it a plausible scifi piece.
Sam Bellotto Jr.
"Finding Miss Emiline". That would be fine by me. I am flattered. I've always liked that one. I consider it one of my best.
It was eventually published over at "Bewildering Stories." I retain all rights, so you can certainly use it at your discretion.

It would be better if you could post it yourself John, if possible. Also, it would give you a chance to see if there is any editing you would like to make. Let me know and I'll remove the old one.

Sure, thanks.
I sent had her a message...
Hey J.J., hoping your enjoying the holidays. I'm running a BEST OF contest month for January and would like to post one of your winning stories ("With a Drop of Drambuie", "Live and Let Live" or "Second Star to the Right"). Do you have a 750 word version of one of these? Please let me if you would like to post a different story, write a new one or not be in this one-time contest. As always, voting starts after the 22nd. Looking to declare someone Grand Champion.
...But have yet to hear back from her. I try to leave it for people, who have posted a story in the last year, to post one themselves. Once it gets a little closer to the 22nd, I'll try to include what other stories I can unless I get some kind of indication that they might not want to participate.

Talk to Jesse living down-under in New Zealand. Posted her championship story from 2014 under her pen name, Ami Hart.

Commenting on 40+ stories - now there's a challenge! Notable that no one's embarked on it yet (including me) - would be quite an undertaking!
