Justin Sewall is a sci-fi and aviation enthusiast. He works at the Boeing Everett Delivery Center and watches airplanes from the past and present fly every day. He loves distance running, HALO, VW GTI's, military history, his kids and wife, though not necessarily in that order. The works of Asimov, Clarke, Heinlein, Herbert and Tolkien have all made their influence in one way, shape or form on Sewall's writing. His newest work, "Microwaves: Short Science Fiction for the Digital Age" drops Dec. 1, 2018. He is also the author of the Cerulean Rising series: "Cerulean Rising: Beginnings" and "Cerulean Rising: Evolutions."

The extra circulation to my brain probably helps, but I find…moreHonestly, a good run outside or on my treadmill helps immensely with my thinking process. The extra circulation to my brain probably helps, but I find that running helps my mind to wander and ideas coalesce. I've been stuck several times wondering where the story might go and running has helped me to push through it.

What I find more debilitating is "writer's fear," the hesitation I get if I haven't written for a few days. To overcome that, I read a few chapters prior to my current stopping point and that helps me get back into the flow of things.(less)
