Quantum (quantumkatana) Here's a good article about it.

Leonie (leonierogers) | 1579 comments Really interesting reading, Alex. I shall have to contemplate this.

Graeme Rodaughan Bookbub ads are another avenue that I plan to explore - 2019 will be the year for that.

Rita Chapman | 156 comments Thanks Alex. I'll look into it too.

Graeme Rodaughan I've added my first Bookbub advert (not a feature deal) to my February promo. $80 USD budget, 2 day run from the 2nd to the 4th of February during the FREE period.

Graeme Rodaughan Well, here is my first advert.

My aim is to run this during a 5 day FREE promo from 1st Feb to the 5th Feb 2019. I am stacking a number of email subscription promos with FreeBooks, BookBarbarian, RobinReads and (TBD) eReaderNewsToday.

I've chosen the page impressions instead of clicks for payment as I'm looking for reach over ROI.

I've chosen to allocate my budget to run as quickly as possible to maximise the number of impressions on the 2nd of February (when the stacked promos are running) to maximise a spike in free sales.

Any suggestions or recommendations?

Is the blurb ok? (Note less than 60 characters)

Author selections, Genre selections?

Quantum (quantumkatana) You decided not to go for superheroes as a cat? Nor vampires (if it's a cat). Military?

Cats look good otherwise.

Oh, how about thrillers > military?

Anderle is a good one.

message 8: by Graeme (new)

Graeme Rodaughan Bookbub didn't have superheroes or vampires as genre categories. They have a set (of course) but are not a direct match for Amazon - which is fair enough.

message 9: by Quantum (new)

Quantum (quantumkatana) Ah. Same with Military?

I mean with all of the lovingly described military hardware, it can't but appeal to that subgenre.

message 10: by Graeme (new)

Graeme Rodaughan You think so - but, 'vampires...' do the two mix?

Well, yes, I do mix them, but would it reach that audience. Also, the military tend to be seconded to the Vampire Dominion - which is not a good look for someone who's expecting a SAS or Delta Force team to be the good guys.

message 11: by Quantum (new)

Quantum (quantumkatana) A valid point.

Would the same go against having Thrillers as a cat? Or is Thrillers broader?

message 12: by Graeme (new)

Graeme Rodaughan Thrillers is definitely a category and a popular category at that. I've included it here.
