SOLVED. weird - Girl who spells her name with a numeral in it. (The numeral is silent) [s]

This is NOT the normal type of obscure book inquiry but just me having a "senior moment."

I know that there was a YA/romance book that I read in the last few years where the girl gives the spelling of her name with a numeral in it. But when asked she simply tells people that the numeral is silent.

Can someone tell me the title?

There's a movie a few yrs ago called Bandslam with Sa5m and she always says the 5 is silent. Could you be thinking of that?

Not a numeral, but there's a character named Jil! (w/ the exclamation point) in Earth to Matthew--and, I'm assuming, the other books in the series.
