Ok, I just finished chapter 5.

Meira: (view spoiler)[ She seems like a nice main character. I like her so far. She is in love (or at least has a crush) but shes not annoying about it, its not her priority. (hide spoiler)]
(view spoiler)[ It reminds me a bit of Finnikin of the Rock. The idea of a destroyed kingdom from one day to another, its people exiled and dying, and a young heir lost (in this case, not so lost as powerless). Anyway, I don't get why they are so protective of Meira... I'm guessing there is something we don't know: she cold be a noble's daughter, so she could marry Mather and maybe use magic? I also think she could actually be the heir, and they said the queen had a boy just to make it safer for her. (hide spoiler)]

Ok, so I just finished chapter 19. Is anyone else reading?

(view spoiler)[Ok, so Im convinced Meira is royal, Im guessing she was born when Spring was attacking and they exchanged babys with Mather so she would be safer. Maybe Mather is actually the orphan, or maybe he's Sir's son. Im just sad its so obvious, the author try to shove the "Im worthless" idea too much. It should be a bit more subtle. Or maybe I've read too much of this type of books?
Anyway, Im sad about Sir. I was really annoyed with him, but before dying, I wanted him to say some things to Meira, like he was proud of her, and he would be honored if she called him father. I just feel I needed more closure.
Im also disappointed in Mather. I was rooting for him, but now I can see he's not what Meira needs. Also, I hate his name! I have no idea how to pronounce his name in english, so I call him Mother, which sounds so wrong!
Overall, I'm enjoying this book a lot. Its not dull and I like the writing. (hide spoiler)]

I'm going to start it in a little while. I had to finish another book before I started this one.

Yes, Im really enjoying it. I really like the main character, she's strong and smart. The book reminds me a bit of Finnikin of the Rock. I've heard its a bit like Throne of Glass, but haven't read that one yet. I just think the world is a bit simple, and I think the "big revelation" is way too predictable, so that kinda frustrates me.
I would love to know everyone else's impressions!
