Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments That one looks to be 50% purple. Check the other editions and see if there's a green one though.

Jamie | 798 comments Hi, is this a green cover?

A Case of Possession (A Charm of Magpies, #2) by K.J. Charles

How about this edition?
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Hitchhiker's Guide, #1) by Douglas Adams

message 54: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments I'll take it, if you smushed the green together it's 50%.

message 55: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Arshiya that one will work :)

message 56: by Sue (last edited Sep 04, 2014 08:23AM) (new)

Sue Morris | 1095 comments Hi Jenne, Is this green? Elijah (Nightwalkers, #3) by Jacquelyn Frank or this Sword of Darkness (Lords of Avalon, #1) by Kinley MacGregor

message 59: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments All teams earned their free pass this first roll. I'll be getting post 1 of each team's thread updated with it (probably tomorrow lol)

message 60: by Jennifer H (new)

Jennifer H Jenne, I can't remember, when can you read a standalone?

message 61: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments 1's and 0's :)

message 62: by Jennifer H (new)

Jennifer H Thanks Jenne! I thought it was only 0's.

message 63: by btwthesepages (new)

btwthesepages | 176 comments Can we read a book that we've started before we rolled if it fits the required task?

message 64: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments No, sorry books have to be started after the roll.

message 65: by btwthesepages (new)

btwthesepages | 176 comments Oh. Okay.

message 66: by Leslie (last edited Sep 16, 2014 10:23PM) (new)

Leslie | 757 comments So, obviously reviewing books appears to be an important part of this game. I can understand reviewing a new book so that a reader can get an idea of what other readers liked or disliked about the book. My question is, why do I need to write a review if 300 other people have already reviewed it? Especially if my rating matches 250 of them. Who sits there and reads all 300 reviews?

message 67: by Paris (last edited Sep 16, 2014 11:13PM) (new)

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments With the reviews, we aren't looking for long drawn out reviews (like what I typically write). You aren't required to post them anywhere but in your teams thread and they don't have to be more than a few sentences about why you either liked or disliked the book.

In all the times I've played this game here (and others like it in other groups), I've added a ton of books to my TBR based on the few sentences that people have written about the books they've read. I'm not going to run off and check out a book based solely on your rating, I need more than that and I'm always interested in adding more books to the never ending mountain. The reviews might seem tedious, but they are an added bonus for your teammates. I enjoy writing them and reading the ones written by my team.

message 68: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 757 comments Well, if it is just for my teammates, I think I can change my attitude for them. :)

As one of your teammates, I appreciate it. I look forward to seeing what I can add from what you read. (And yes, I realize I might have a problem. Lol)

message 70: by btwthesepages (new)

btwthesepages | 176 comments Jenne I don't think I'll be able to continue with the challenge. College is getting a bit hectic for me right now and I can't seem to find enough time to read. I've already been reading my books till the last moment and I don't think it's fair to my team. Is there someone who could take my place?

message 71: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Yes I can find a back up player no problem. Good luck with your studies, and that always takes priority :)

message 72: by btwthesepages (new)

btwthesepages | 176 comments Thanks Jenne :)

message 73: by Jenne (new)

message 77: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (last edited Sep 27, 2014 04:12PM) (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) I mentioned to my sister of being ready for a new book tomorrow, so I was telling her of how the challenge works and showing her the dice roll and I saw this message

Advisory: RANDOM.ORG will be intermittently unavailable on Sunday 2014-09-28 due to maintenance work.

So hoping no problems tomorrow when we roll.

message 78: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments What! Random.org can't be unavailable. We need it for everything. lol

Thanks Danielle for letting us know. I think I'll post this in each of the team threads just in case.

message 79: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments There's another website that does the same thing, I'll look for a link when I'm back at the computer, or if anyone knows of one feel free to post it here :)

message 80: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments You can go here, you just have to change the number of dice and the number of rolls to 1

Roll Dice Online

message 84: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments If there's anyone that's not already playing both versions of the game and would be interested in being a sub player for one week, let me know. It would be for the week of 10/10-10/17.

message 85: by Jennifer H (new)

Jennifer H I can sub, Jenne :D

message 86: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Great :)
It's team 6 over at SS. Thanks for pitching in for a week :)

message 88: by Sue (new)

message 89: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments NP Sue :)

Angie ~aka Reading Machine~ (wolffaerie17) | 2160 comments Would Ghost Story (The Dresden Files, #13) by Jim Butcher work for Illinois?

message 91: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments It should they've all been set in Chicago. It only has to be set in the given location for only a little bit of the story.

Angie ~aka Reading Machine~ (wolffaerie17) | 2160 comments That's okay I've got another book picked out

message 93: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Now that we're nearing the end. Each team has the potential winning alternates under a spoiler tag in the alternate post of their threads. To win you must roll past 75 and you can either read the number you'd be on or the alternate for that spot. In the event of multiple teams having a shot at it, the winners would be whichever team finished first.

message 94: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments For those of you that enjoy the two books a week team challenge, SOS has their super speedy bingo sign ups going. Today is the cutoff date though.

message 95: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Ironically enough, teams 1,2,3 have the potential to roll past 75 on Sunday. In the event there's multiple teams that could win, then whoever finishes first is the winner.

message 96: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 798 comments Are any/some of these yellow enough?

1. Heart To Hart (Gaslight Mysteries, #1) by Erin O'Quinn
2. A Minor Inconvenience by Sarah Granger
3. Island House (Dropping Anchor #1) by Bru Baker
4. Chaser (Chaser, #1) by Rick R. Reed

Thanks!

message 97: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Yeah they're all good but #2 it's more orange to me.

Jamie | 798 comments Jenne wrote: "Yeah they're all good but #2 it's more orange to me."

Thank you!

message 99: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 798 comments Sorry, one more question...

The team I'm on is on space 74, if our captain rolls a 1 are we in the running or does it have to be above 75?

I think it's above but figured I'd check!

message 100: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Y'all have to roll at least a 2, gotta go past 75.
