Michael Korleone (michaelkorleone) | 3881 comments Carol & Elizabeth (and maybe rivka) - Should this award be added in English or Nepali? For a similar Nepali literature award (Madan Puraskar), we added English version on GR -

I can work on this once you confirm if we need to add it as Sajha Puraskar or साझा पुरस्कार

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ | 4696 comments Hi Michael.
The Madan Puraskar was already on GR.

I'd be inclined to think they should both be in their own language.

Bivek Bhandari | 737 comments Ghamka Pailaharu won Madan Puraskar and Sajha Puraskar in 2035 BS (Award given to best book of year 1978/79)

It would be better if you have shown the same year for both awards.

Same goes with Aagat, Madhabi etc.

Michael Korleone (michaelkorleone) | 3881 comments Madan Puraskar website says Ghamka Pailaharu won the award in 2036 BS

२०३६ (taken from award website)

But Sajha Puraskar wiki shows the year as 2035 BS

च. गोतामे (taken from Nepali wikipedia)

I think the difference is due to one site showing the year in which award was given and the other site showing the year for which the award was given :/

For Madan Puraskar, I added 2018 AD for the latest winner (Yogmaya in 2075 BS) and went backwards from there throughout the list. For Sajha Puraskar, it looks like there are only 2 winners in the last 15 years which put me off the years slightly

Bivek Bhandari | 737 comments 2036 BS was the year in which the award was given and 2035 BS was the year for which the award was given.

http://madanpuraskar.org/guthi/people...

The last sentence means the same

The award was awarded in 2063 BS, 2064 BS, 2066 BS also.

https://www.kantipurdaily.com/printed...

Award winners

Michael Korleone (michaelkorleone) | 3881 comments I'm not sure what the precedence is when it comes to awards given in and awards given for. I usually go by the year mentioned in the award website but as we see now, different websites give different years so I'd like confirmation from PTB on what we need to follow for GR.

Also, I'm not sure if we can use that link for updating Sajha Puraskar winners. Again, leaving that for PTB to confirm

Bivek Bhandari | 737 comments Hello, The above years are the years for which the awards are given.

You can check the following book covers for verification.

I think it would be better to use the year that you used for Sajha Puraskar.

P.S. Is it allowed to show the awards in this format?
The number inside the bracket showing the year in BS.

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ | 4696 comments I'll leave the awards for someone else, but I know we have to use the Gregorian numbers for any dates in the date field.
