See?... I'm not healthy enough to be coming up with ideas... this runs into the problem my original plan fixed... the fact that the formulas won't be accounting for the column rearrangement if you do it this way...

Looks fine to me... am I missing something?
To move columns around, I simply click on the letter (once), then re-click and 'drag it around'. The formulas automatically update with the new column position.I only have to move around cells in the top two lines if I do it like that :p
That's also how I move books in my sheet, between my 'currently reading' and 'planned' headers. I don't copy-paste the data, I move the entire row like a barbarian :D
@Kari: the problem came from our talk in your sheet. We wrote everywhere, including in the page column...Some formulas were returning errors because the cells contained text instead of a number :)

That's the gist of what I do, as well... I was just trying to come up with the easiet way to get the data in the top 15 rows sorted back out after, with the right $F$16 formulas, as well...

Beats correcting the first formula, dragging it and then manually correcting the month number :p

I think there are formulas referencing every column except the 2 you mentioned... anything to do with dates and points is referenced in the default formulas... then the new genre column got it's own counting formulas... some people's standalone formula references the series column... my new one references the # column...

You can also highlight a bunch of rows with shift-click, and drag them all at once... that's what I'm going to have to do, since I already made monthly headers in the body of my sheet... and since odd rows are forced light-blue, I need to make sure all monthly headers are on even rows, even if that means I need a spare blank row sometimes...

No, F2 just contains a number, the formula is gone.

I implemented it into my sheet:
Custom formula: =$HG17=$G$1 (in Karishma's sheet it would be =$H16=$H$1) then pick a background color... then use the vertical "..." to drag the rule to the top of the conditional formatting list

Which is what it should be, to choose between the 3 actions it can do... taking data from the Participant sheet or adding up unread books...

Refreshing the page is the best first step to fixing problems... the 2nd is clicking the "All changes saved to drive" text, and seeing if you can retrieve an older version with the lost data...

Every sheet has a monthly tracker above... it's just grouped up, so you can show/hide it with the "+/-" to the left of row 2-3... and it knows what month to count it in because there's a hidden column to the far right that parses it out of the Date column...

About the delayed reaction - noticed it too. I think the formulas are simply not re-calculating as often as they should, since the entire page updated really fast after forcing it (adding a space after a formula and hitting enter). Maybe because we're using data from another tab? 🤔Almost everything on the main tab is locked to avoid accidents, but maybe we could add a REFRESH button that everyone can hit?
Something like a little script that force all formulas on the tab to recalculate associated with an image?

How to fill series column? Yes for series and no for standalone?Did some checking with putting a read date for my next book, there was no change in series vs standalone tab but my total didn't restore to 3.8 after I deleted the date in Main Page.
The way I set the little graph on your sheet is: empty cell = standalone.For a series, you can enter Y, or the series name + book number, it's up to you :)

Don't worry about it too much though, I only pointed it out because I didn't think it was updating at all, before I realised it was just a bit delayed. It's totally fit for purpose as is! :)

From my quick search, just refreshing seems like the easiest solution... internet says sometimes it takes data changes in 2 cells for the calculations to update...
Mmmh. I made some testing earlier, and simply refreshing wouldn't 'trigger' the rankings recalculations but simply reload the page as it was (without the points from the newest book entry). Changing one formula (like adding a space at the end) would do the trick though.It's not really important anyway, it's just me obsessing about 'loose ends' :p
