I am starting with Gardens of the Moon, which I started a while ago, but I keep neglecting. I hope to finish at least 3 books during this readathon - the previously mentioned book, another neglected in-progress book, and 1984, which is the last book I need to read to finish one of my challenges. Since I tend to be rather unfocused, I'll probably read parts of at least a few other books.
Happy reading, all! I'm going to three basketball games today, but hoping to get in an hour or two of reading later tonight.
Last night, I read 15 pages in Oscar and Lucinda and 22 pages in At Home: A Short History of Private Life. Hoping to do better today!
I have read 97 pages of Gardens of the Moon and 93 pages of Record of a Spaceborn Few since yesterday morning. It's a good start, and I'm hoping to keep it up all week.
I got a lot read yesterday, and I finished my first book. I won't have as much time the rest of the week due to work, but I'll read as much as I can. Too bad all the reports and depositions I'll be reading for the construction defect case I'm working on don't count. That may be the bulk of my reading the next few days.Update (cumulative):
Gardens of the Moon 147 pages
Record of a Spaceborn Few - last 275 pages, finished 12/9
Total pages: 422
Everyone is making so much progress, and this is a busy time of year!
I have finished Virginia Woolf: A Portrait 320 pages.
I have finished Virginia Woolf: A Portrait 320 pages.
Over the last two days, I read 93 pages in Cannery Row (finished), 114 pages in Oscar and Lucinda, and 38 pages in At Home: A Short History of Private Life for an overall total of 282 pages. I have a cold plus a pulled back muscle, so I plan to pamper myself the rest of this week with plenty of reading time!
After reading all that boring and serious stuff at work, I couldn't get myself to read anything too intense, so I'm reading a fun, light read instead of the stuff I had planned. Maybe I'll feel less tired tomorrow.Update (cumulative):
Gardens of the Moon 147 pages
Record of a Spaceborn Few - last 275 pages, finished 12/9
Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians 118 pages
Total pages: 540
Progress for Tuesday/Wednesday:Oscar and Lucinda - 32 pgs (Finished)
At Home: A Short History of Private Life - 162 pgs (Finished)
The Woman Who Walked in Sunshine - 65 pgs
Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood - 80 pgs
Total so far: 621 pages
I'm not going to finish all the reading I planned, but I got other reading done, so I'm happy with my progress so far.Update (cumulative):
Gardens of the Moon 147 pages
Record of a Spaceborn Few - last 275 pages, finished 12/9
Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians 294 pages, finished 12/13

Anne, that is a lot of reading especially during the Christmas season.

Anne, that is a lot of reading especially during the Christmas season.
Due to the Christmas season, this has been a difficult week for me. Everything has been a blur.
In addition to Virginia Woolf: A Portrait 320 pages
I completed
Romantic Outlaws: The Extraordinary Lives of Mary Wollstonecraft and Her Daughter Mary Shelley 649 pages.
I hope everyone had fun reading this week.
