Elizabeth (Alaska) One group of editions has a default description and another group of editions - of the same work! - has a different default description. What happens when you combine these? Does the system give preference to one default over another? Which one?

At this point in time, it's sort of important because the defaults are in different languages. I would not want the German default to suddenly apply to all of the Spanish editions.

Elizabeth (Alaska) bump - hoping Rivka will see this.

A work can only have one default description, so when you combine two existing works, only one edition will remain as default. I believe the one that was with the work that had more shelvings, but I can't swear to that.

Elizabeth (Alaska) I think I'm going to assume the worst and that editions will pick up the description from the edition with the most shelvings that is also using one of the defaults.

Is there a way to see which editions are using the default descriptions?

Ha - we were posting at the same time. I think you are probably right.
