then she decides that kissing the stalker alien is the appropriate response to discovering that he's been romantically attached to her since she was six
next she decides to send strangers to other strangers houses, 'cos they're playing at magic Santas and just thinks "I'll worry about how they got FREAKING CAMERAS INTO THESE KIDS ROOMS (not to mention her own) later"

She doesn't deserve hot alien sex!

20 pages ago the aliens were bemoaning that they couldn't get in touch with their home planet because of broken stuff, and now they are saying that there is a regular tourist trip to Earth by other aliens.
Why couldn't those other aliens report back?!

AKA: don't introduce "comedy" alien moments if it's going to clash with your characters backstory and motivation!
