The description of Larry Schwarm: Kansas Farmers makes it appear that this book is primarily photographs. Please explain whether this book contains at least 100 pages of text.

See the Rules of the Challenge:

""Coffee table", Art books, and other books consisting primarily of images or photographs without a substantial written component (essays, criticism, etc.) may not be be claimed for points"

Task 25.6 requires a minimum combined page total of 600. The Handsome Man's Deluxe Café has 227 pages and The Travelling Cat Chronicles has 288, for a total of 515 pages.

Task 10.2 defines everyday hero as "an everyday hero will be defined as first responders (firefighters, police officers, EMTs, paramedics, search and rescue personnel), park rangers, teachers, social workers, lifeguards, nurses, doctors, and veterinarians. "

I don't see anything in the description of Ultra Marathon Man that suggests any of these professions. If he does belong to one of these categories, please explain.

I don't have an exact number of photos v. text because I've returned it to the owning library.
However, based on " without a substantial written component ", I will say that there is no specific page amount listed. This work has a rather lengthy essay at the beginning explaining the larger project of which the photos were just one part. It's pretty technical describing methodology and findings. Later, where the photos are shown, each photo is accompanied by another page describing the photo and it's relation to the study. So, all I can say is that there are definitely more pages of text than photos.

Please let me know if this changes your original decision or not, so that I will know how to proceed.

Task 10.9 requires a book written in an epistolary style. "For the purposes of this task, books written as a series of letters will, of course, work, but so will books written as a series of emails, tweets, blog posts, diary entries, newspaper clippings, and/or ships logs."

If you are intending to claim 10.9 for this post, please explain how your book fits this task.

This appears to be an exhibition catalogue of Mr. Schwarm's photographs. https://spencerart.ku.edu/exhibition/....

There are apparently 50 photographs in the exhibit, so with a 128 page book, there would be considerably less than 100 pages of text. If you can provide additional information, I'll revisit this.

Sandy, I found it on the Epistolary Book list. This book is more like diary entries from several different people with some of the people repeating at a later date. The entries are dated.

(Sorry for not updating the italic comment to fit the task.)

I think I should have 125 points, not 120. You had a question about one of my 5 point books and I corrected the book on this discussion in post 224. Do I need to correct the book in the Tasks Completed discussion instead of here? Does that book still not work?

Thanks so much! This is my first challenge, and I'm still figuring things out!

FYI, we do not use kindle page counts for any purposes in the SRC. For some reason, the kindle version you linked of The Casual Vacancy is not associated with any other editions. This seems to be a GR error, since the other editions are all in there, just not linked.

No need to repost this time, but in the future, you should check the edition you're linking to make sure that the necessary editions for the task are listed.
