Irish American family gather for the reading of a will. The will belongs to a guy I think is named Pete/Peter and he is not dead, in fact, he is the one reading his own will to his family.

I'm fairly sure it's a Penguin book with an orange binding and a sepia toned cover with a single flower on the front. I don't remember the name of the book or the author.

When did you see it in a store, or when was it published? Do you think it was classic literary fiction, or contemporary fiction, or mass market fiction?

It was a thrift store. I think it was set somewhere between 1940-modern but I could be wrong about that too. I remember he had gathered his family so he could read them his will. Fairly sure there was mentions of alcoholics. I believe it is one of those books that focuses mostly on family/character relations and day to day life then an actual plot, slice of life I believe?
