I decided I should read And Then There Were None last summer when it appeared on the local high school summer reading list AGAIN (a discussion for another time) but never got around to it. It was... okay?

I feel weird about adult books being on the Teen Summer Reading lists. Like all the libraries that list Where the Crawdad Sings (which is just unfair because the holds lists are EPIC-ly long)

For real about Crawdad! We have nearly 600 holds in the system (about 100 for our library) and 6 copies "on our shelves." I nearly laughed myself silly when I saw that one on the list.

On a separate note, it was kind of good to see they're at least trying to add some variety. Sure, no student will get to read it from the library (unless they're very lucky), but at least they changed something this year.

OH! AND! The high school finally, finally took my advice and removed Game of Thrones from their "Historical Fiction" genre list for suggested reads. It only took them 4 years, but it got done!

Truth! I'm all up for change. Kids/teens liking their required summer reading? *gasp*!

Wooooow. GoT, really? Do they even read their picks?
