Comments: I haven't read many books published in 2019. The books I did read and vote for mostly dropped out in the early rounds. Looking at the winners, there's not actually many I want to read (5/20). This is partly because I only read certain genres but also a tiny bit that they don't really appeal to me. However, I do want to read some of the other nominees.
I'm not sure if I'll be voting in future years as each year, there seems to be less choice for me. I am trying to read older books and often read newer books once the hype has passed.
I am absolutely gutted, though, that Dark Age by Pierce Brown didn't win the Science Fiction award because that is one of my favourite books I've read this year. I'm also now worried that some fan favourite characters are going to be killed off in Book 6 of the Red Rising Saga in revenge...
