Shannon Garvey | 5 comments The book (series) is about a female who turns herself over to what was possibly a dark fairy king. There is a poem in pieces throughout the book and in its full at the very end. It turns out the girl changed her identity and removed her memories, so she could not remember that she was the queen. Throughout the book, the antagonist character refers to her as his queen.

The pieces of the poem (in italics) throughout the book and the ending are what make it the most memorable.

Shannon, can you tell us more about the girl's initial situation (e.g., where is she, why and how she turns herself over..., is she alone without family, who does she think she is, her age)?

No, but that sounds phenomenal 😁

I apologize for the vagueness, but my memory is sketchy.

The “poem” I believe was a prophesy about the queen’s return. The girl was late teens early twenties.

She gave herself over to them in exchange for another male she was in love with. I believe it was set in an underground habitat. She was with a king and a ton of guards. On more than one occasion she snuck out of her room to look around, but not necessarily to escape.

If I think of anything else I’ll post it. I’m on my 84th ebook this year (plus 6-8 paper/hardbacks), and I read it either last year or the one before. Makes details a bit difficult.

Shannon Garvey | 5 comments Another note. I believe the “man” where she was being “held” had an accent. Possibly Irish.

Things like: “Me Queen”

Bridget (oobridgetoo) | 171 comments Just a few guesses of books that contain fey/ kings, etc: A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. Hunted by Meagan Spooner. Or The Cruel Prince by Holly Black.

Shannon Garvey | 5 comments Just FOUND IT! Iniquity, by Amy Bartol
