Kody | 19 comments I love reading romance, but I'm always a little disappointed when the book ends and I never hear more of the couple. I don't just want to read about how a couple comes together, I want to read about what happens after they're together. What's the married life like, what's parenthood like, and all the other ups and downs of a strong relationship. Does anybody have some recommendations for a good romance series where the hero and the heroine get together in the first book and stay together (or mostly stays together) through out the entire series. I'm not into historical romance, but anything paranormal or contemporary would be right up my alley. I'm particularly fond of first person duel perspective, but I realize those are hard to come by so anyone's favorite romance series will do.

Here's some recommendations of my own:

Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost Halfway to the grave, aka the first book in the night huntress series. Urban Paranormal romance. Very talented author and it's told from 1st person female POV. Contains an audio series and about seven books all centered around the vampire couple.

God Touched (Demon Accords, #1) by John Conroe God touched aka the first book in the demon accords series. Urban Paranormal with heavy romantic tones. One of my favorite series. Told from 1st person male POV. Contains an audio series (a highly recommended audio series) and about 15 books and counting. Centered around a human male and vampire female couple. (Note: by book 2 the main character powers up immensely to the point of being "over powered". Give it time the author has plans to challenge the all powerful character)

Sunrise at Sunset Revamped (Sunset Vampire #1) by Jaz Primo Sunset at Sunrise aka the first book in the sunset vampires series. Urban paranormal romance. Has a bit of an unconventional romance dynamic in that the female vampire is an alpha type personality while the human male has a beta personality. It's one of the author's earliest books and it shows, but if you make it through the first book the writing improves immensely. Told from 3rd person perspective for the first 3 books, but switches to alternating 1st person point of view by book 4 (A prime example of the author's improved writing skill). Series contains 5 books so far with no accompanying audio book.

Jessica I don't know if this is any help, but I really love Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series. The first book is called Slave to Sensation. It's paranormal, with aspects of dystopian and lots of romance. It kind of builds around two factions, the Leopards and the Wolves, both shapeshifters, as well as the psy, psychally gifted humans, who become allies, and for each clan or family, you get new romances and still glimpses at the old romances... so exactly what you are looking for.

Another series, this one romantic suspense, that I love is Pamela Clare's I-Team. The first book is Extreme Exposure. I would say compared with the Psy-Changeling series, there are fewer glimpses at the happily ever after of the couples, but there still are. And the guys are yummy....

Unfortunately, these two series are told in 3rd person POV. I still hope that they might spark your interest, because they are really good, plot-wise as well as language-wise.

J.F. Holland (jfholland) | 55 comments Hi, kody, if it helps, my Dennison Series is Contemporary and although each one is a standalone about a different couple, you get more about the other couples in each book. I have all 3 books together in a boxset and available on KU:-The Only One.
The pa has just become the bosses latest challenge.
This Time.
The single mum and the playboy.
Second Chance.
The ex-soldier and his first love.

https://amzn.to/2LanzSY

My Bound Serial is Paranormal and the same people are in it all the way through the serial, each one like the Dennison Series, may have more characters in them, but all based around the same people, their family and friends so you get more of them in each. There are 7 books out at present and being a serial they have to be read in order as each new book begins where the previous one ended. Again, I have a boxset out on KU, the first 4 books are in this one, the following 3 aren't, but once I release the 8th, I'll put the next 3 together in a boxset on KU:-

Lose yourself in the lives, loves and battles that go on in Lunaton, my fictitious British Countryside town. The Bound Series, Books 1 – 4 now in one boxset, and available to read for FREE through KU. You can grab your copy here: -

UK: https://amzn.to/2unDtCo
US: https://amzn.to/2LMjo3w

I can also recommend Kresley Coles Immortals After Dark where characters will pop up from previous books and Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed they do the same.

x

I just read written in blood and I'm on the second book. Good series so far, my one complaint is the all the different characters are doing their own thing and it gets a little difficult to keep up with who's who and who's doing what. I love the concept though, I've never read an urban fantasy where the dominant population is the paranormal rather than the the normal human stock. Usually (from the UF I've read so far) the paranormal are hiding among humans, subjugated by humans, or trying to integrate into human society. In this case the humans are the ones treading lightly and trying to integrate into the supernaturally dominant world or risk.

Thanks for the recommendation. A few questions though. Do the main couple get together by the end of the second book? Also are there going to be other human/monster pairings among the courtyard residents or is the main couple the extent of the romance?

What's the title? Malta? or This Man and One Night?

Amy*skye.rhyme | 86 comments Do Meg & Simon get together any time soon? Nope, actually they really don't! Sorry about that. I must have focused more on the "ongoing characters" in every book but overlooked the "romance" part of your request when mentioning my paranormal suggestions. All 3 of those paranormal recs from my 1st grouping are very slow burn on the romance aspect. I just love those 3 series so much, I overlooked the lack of steam. Oops.

The 3 contemporary ones may be a better fit. They are all about the same couple throughout each book of the series and there are plenty of steamy sex scenes and relationship drama, trials, and growth, etc. I loved "Mr. Black" and the rest of that series. It's contemporary romance. As is the Georgia Le Carre series. The last contemporary one, "Tears of Tess" is definitely a dark romance series. Does this ever appeal to you? You may not want to try it if you know you wouldn't like any mafia/criminal romance themes. But they are a hell of a riveting couple and I've seen many reviews that say it's a bit out of their comfort zone but still one of their favorites.

I'd say try Mr. Black by P.T. Michelle if you haven't already looked into it. It's a wonderful love story with great chemistry that takes place over many years, even though they've lost their way a few times.

I looked it up again and it looks like you can actually get it FREE $0.00 on Amazon! It's only the first one that's on sale though, as of today.

Mister Black (In the Shadows, #1) by P.T. Michelle Mister Black by P.T. Michelle

Lol ah well "the others" was still a fun series with a neat concept. If u liked that have you ever read the iron druid series? First book is Hounded and its a pretty awsome urban fantasy series that introduces some out of the box concepts. Like "written in blood" it has a slow burn romance as well. Highly recommend the audiobook. The narrator is almost as good as the writer.

Ill look into mister black

Amy*skye.rhyme | 86 comments Yup, "Hounded" has been on my paranormal reading list for awhile. It sounds good. I've heard the hero has a great sidekick character, a cool dog I think?! If I'm remembering the right book. Urban fantasy and paranormal romance with a unique lead and a creature or monster sidekick full of snarky commentary will always be one of my go-to book formulas.

I haven't read a lot of books that focus on only one main character, and a male at that, but I think I'll enjoying doing so. I'll bump the Iron Druid series up my list! Thanks.

MG *Bury Me with My Kindle.. & a REALLY Long Charger* (martrob) | 11 comments Not paranormal (though it is very action-packed), but I LOVE the couple featured in Marie Force's Fatal series. The prequel is currently free (it was actually written after she published the first 4-5 books, but I just started the series, so I read it first, and I liked the flow/having more of the back story going into the first book).
Prequel --> One Night with You One Night with You (Fatal, #0.5) by Marie Force

Also, I don't think I saw it posted above, but the futuristic JD Robb In Death series is great, too!
Book 1 Naked in Death Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. Robb is on sale for $2.99 currently...

Ttswiss | 1 comments The Birthright series by Sydney Addae http://www.sydneyaddae.com/
She has a whole wolf nation that she has created. It’s pretty fascinating. I’m still reading some and I love that the two main characters in the first book still show up. You get to see their lives plus their friends and their children.
